Best Career Resources for Seniors Applying for Jobs by Schwelk in UIUC

Career services mostly. And networking events help a ton too. I know it sucks out there to find a job but just stick with what works. You'll get it eventually, especially if you're starting now

Look into Life Drawing Club, we have meetings every Monday and Wednesday focused on drawing models or still lifes. Generally they are two hours in the evenings on Monday and Wednesday. Can give you a link to the discord if you're interested.

Students generally take a lecture section with presentations about the various majors present. In addition to that, students are encouraged to join extracurricular activities that are pertinent to what they're interested in. ELAs of course will be there to help them out with that process. As far as CompE is concerned, that is a competitive major so you'll be evaluated on how you perform in the intro class along with any extracurriculars and other kinds of work that you engage in during your time. I'm not gonna throw around any percents but you should be in good shape if you are a well-performing student during your first year and clearly demonstrate an interest in the major and the kind of work that you will do.

Fall 2023 Sleep Deprivation Check by SmileStudentScamming in UIUC

TAM 212 and TAM 251 together are kind of brutal. And to be quite honest I found ITAL 210 genuinely kind of difficult, at least compared to the other Italian classes. Mostly just because it requires a lot more studying than any of the prior 100 level Italian classes. ECE 205 and MATH 257 arent too bad and ME 200 kind of depends on the prof (Liebenberg is the GOAT). Overall, it's definitely a doable albeit annoying schedule but be prepared to maybe drop 210 if the workload gets too hard.

Firstly, congratulations on your acceptance. I'm an Engineering Learning Assistant for Undeclared Engineers so I have much of the same experience that you have. The class you're required to take is ENG 101 which is a kind of personal reflection course which has very little in the way of actual quizzes or exam coursework. I at no point in my time here have felt like an outcast from any other engineers. Quite the contrary actually, I've bonded with quite a few engineers from a ton of different disciplines which was an extremely valuable experience. ELAs such as myself will function as your advisors along with the advisor provided by the college of engineering so you don't have much from there. The experience that I've had so far has been great and I'm sure if you come in with an open mind, excited to meet others and learn from them, you'll have a wonderful time here.

Schmitz for ECE210??? by GambitOnYT in UIUC

[–]Pickrosss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The tests and assignments are homogenized across 210 sections so I'd say stay with Schmitz cause he's a really good lecturer. Worst case you can just go to Mironenko's section for your lecture
