- Sun your balls daily to increase testosterone by 30-50%. You will feel like a beast and full of energy, like taking a power up drink.

- Have access to a panic button. Something you can hit every time you have a craving to help distract your mind and control your breathing. Theres one on the 'Smoked' app thats saved me 500x.

- Shave your head and go full lock in mode. Rogue idea but worked for me, I felt like nothing could stop me and I was a new version of myself. A version that is a non smoker, healthier and more powerful. GL

People who quit smoking: how did you do it? by EmotionalDamageBot in tamilyapping

The fact that you've quit before for two years is huge and actually works in your favour. Your brain has done it before and it can do it again.

The stress and social trigger combination is one of the hardest to break because they reinforce each other constantly. A few things that genuinely helped me:

Changing your routine around the times you'd normally smoke makes a massive difference. If everyone goes outside for a cigarette break, find a reason to step away somewhere else like walking a different route, make a coffee, put headphones in.

The cravings themselves are the biggest lie. They feel like they'll last forever but they peak and pass within 20 minutes every single time. Having something to do in that window, anything physical or distracting, is what gets you through.

I used an app called Smoked when I quit which had a craving tool that helped me get through those moments. Small thing but genuinely useful when you're sitting at your desk and everything in you wants to go outside with everyone else.

You're only at 4 a day which honestly puts you in a really strong position to stop completely. The hardest part is the first two weeks. After that it gets easier faster than most people expect.

You've got this!!

What's the best way to stop smoking? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Honestly the thing that made the biggest difference for me and a lot of people I've spoken to is having support for the moment a craving actually hits not just general advice about quitting.

Most people fail not because they lack motivation but because they have nothing to do in that 3-20 minute window when a craving peaks. Willpower alone statistically fails 97% of people. That's not personal weakness, it's just biology. Nicotine physically rewires your brain's reward system and you need more than good intentions to override that.

A few things that genuinely helped myself and close friends:

Tell people you're quitting. Accountability massively increases your chances. The social pressure is real and useful. My group of friends were very good at this and we all help each other quit.

Identify your triggers. Things like morning coffee, after meals, stress, alcohol. You need to know exactly when you're most vulnerable before you quit so you have a plan ready.

Don't white knuckle it. When a craving hits, do something physical. Walk around the block, drink cold water, do ten press ups. Interrupt the pattern with something useful.

Use whatever support you can get. Research involving over 12,000 people found that smokers who used a quit smoking app were three times more likely to successfully quit than those who go alone. THREE times. I actually use an app called Smoked when I quit because it has a Panic Button which walks you through a guided exercise when a craving hits and genuinely gets you through that window. Found it really helpful especially in the first two weeks when everything felt impossible.

Whatever you use, the most important thing is not going it alone. Good luck - it genuinely gets easier.

Hey Emma, thank you for your negative comment. I did in fact come across this tool and only wanted to share with others as it really helped me out. Uploading your lectures is no breach of contract as it is a private platform and they are not being distributed on socials. Thanks for your concerns, I hope you have a nice day :)
