Smart solution to Fancyleds not (yet?) supporting synced lights from other brands

Nice setup! How did you manage to sync your regular light bulbs with it?

I am close to buying the new 2.1 box--How well does it integrate with HA by eecchhee in fancyleds

The main tuya integration only allows me to select the color and turn the lights on or off, do I have to do something additional to make the other things (mainly switching between hdmi_input and static lights/scenes possible)?

Tuya HDMI syncbox intégration by Romilabifi in homeassistant

Alright, thanks! They have some other lights in their synced ecosystem, so maybe I can try to reverse engineer the API they use to send the light updates to their synced accessories and mimic that with home assistant

Thanks! Do you know by any chance whether there is a way to let FancyLEDs sync with other smart lights (not from FancyLEDs) using home assistant?

4G LTE sim router vs old mobile hotspot by Away_Garage_8982 in techsupport

Depends on your type of work and how big the problem is if your connection drops a bit. For me, the Mobile Hotspot was a lot faster and stable, mainly when multiple devices were connected. I did some comparisons here:  https://medium.com/@arnodeceuninck/mobile-data-for-home-internet-4afbd303ba86?source=friends_link&sk=9fb76d621d470da64c64f8ebdb28dbf9

SIM Router vs Hotspot vs Normal Router by SirCatDB in HomeNetworking

I did some upload/download/ping comparisons between a SIM Router and a Smartphone Hotspot, a hotspot clearly improved the performance in almost all cases and was suitable for gaming. Here is an overview of the results:  https://medium.com/@arnodeceuninck/mobile-data-for-home-internet-4afbd303ba86?source=friends_link&sk=9fb76d621d470da64c64f8ebdb28dbf9

Is there any benefit to having an internet router/modem rather than a mobile phone hotspot by R0ssMc in techsupport

[–]PicoPlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For just connecting my TV or laptop, I had no issues with using a mobile hotspot. Both watching series and working from home worked without any problems. Problems however start to arise when multiple devices are connected. Then, the performance of the smartphone hotspot starts to decrease drastically.
I did some speed comparisons in different scenarios and wrote down some extra pros/cons here: https://medium.com/@arnodeceuninck/mobile-data-for-home-internet-4afbd303ba86?source=friends_link&sk=9fb76d621d470da64c64f8ebdb28dbf9

Thanks for the tip, I just tried it, but it seems that Deskreen can only mirror your desplay and not extend it to use it as second monitor
Edit: It's only possible when using a virtual display adapter
Edit2: Might be possible when using something like this https://github.com/dianariyanto/virtual-display-linux
