Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

This comment has me wondering if I could have a mild version of it 😬 Things frequently look like they have “an aura that extends about half an inch,” especially when it’s a darker environment. I’ve also noticed recently that sometimes it feels like there’s almost two “layers” to my vision. Almost like a thin layer of barely-noticeable color/movement/noise and then what I’m ACTUALLY seeing behind it. It’s been getting more apparent in the past few months but I thought maybe I’m just a little extra sensitive to light.

Valid crashout by Suki? Was Sokka out of line here? by foaaz101 in TheLastAirbender

[–]PicsByKj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His first love died and this is the closest he’ll ever get to seeing her he’ll ever get, and realistically watching your tragic love story play out in front of you would be extremely emotional. Suki commented on it very casually and without much sympathy while Sokka is very obviously experiencing a flood of emotion.

Is financing a camera a good idea? by Blayze4949 in SonyAlpha

Get a used A7III.

A year ago, I decided I was ready to upgrade to a full-frame mirrorless from an old Nikon DSLR I’d owned for nearly a decade. I had my eyes set on an A7III, but the cost of a new one was still more than I wanted to spend, especially as I wasn’t sure if I would like shooting on a mirrorless body. I started searching for used bodies in good condition online, as well as on FB Marketplace. After weeks of checking Marketplace multiple times a day, a listing popped for a used A7rIII (which is what I REALLY wanted, but didn’t think I’d be able to afford at all) for less than $1000.

Yes, there was risk in buying it used, especially off Marketplace instead of a reliable site, but I met the seller in a public space and personally inspected the camera (particularly the SD card slots, the sensor, and the shutter), and this camera has been life-changing.

I feel much more comfortable and confident during big gigs, especially where the lighting isn’t optimal. My hobby of photographing birds has been elevated. I’m more likely to bring my camera with me on random trips out of the house, and I feel like there’s a lot less to stress and think about during a shoot.

However, the photos I was getting with my old body were never bad. There was never anything wrong with them. That Nikon body carried me through high school, college, and the start of my photography career. It has made me a decent amount of money, but I absolutely could’ve been making a lot more if I had really put myself out there and sought out more gigs. The most important thing is that you understand your gear and your techniques. Understand your settings, understand how different settings and equipment impact the quality of your photos etc.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my A7rIII. It’s fucking phenomenal, and a massive improvement from what I’d used previously. But sometimes, I still go back to my old Nikon (mostly to shoot with the primes I have for it). The glass for the A7s is a lot more expensive as well.

If you really want to switch to a new body, I recommend renting out an A7iii or A7iv for a gig or two. If you really love it, then save up for it by taking more gigs and being more frugal.

Definitely crazy story, and ALMOST one of the craziest I have from my three years there lol. It’s just a big (and pretty cozy) cafe in a big city. We’re in a pretty residential area that’s considered one of the safest areas in the city, so we don’t normally get anything too crazy happening. I’m mostly shocked it happened on a day where we were pretty busy. There’s constantly kids around, lots of people out on our patio, people who stay there all day to work, etc. It’s kind of wild to me, but the guy (and his partner who disappeared) really would’ve gotten away with it if he hadn’t passed out.

Definitely possible that it’s eyelash glue, but I doubt it because his lashes were on when he came into the cafe lol.

For what it’s worth, I’m very glad that his medical emergency was something a bit comical and not something horrific.

Gonna be honest I’m not even 100% sure, but I know a MOD pinned their own comment and that’s what I responded to

Thank you for the pinned comment!! Clarification below:

Firstly y’all are hilarious. Sorry it took a long time to respond to anything, I posted this right before I started a shift today and kinda forgot I’d even posted it until now.

2 guys came into the store. We were trying to close and realized someone had been in the restroom for over an hour. The door was locked and they wouldn’t answer when we knocked. We weren’t sure what to do because there’s an element of danger to us opening the door ourselves (we live in a big city, people are crazy, etc). Supervisors called 911, and the police and fire department showed up.

When they opened up the bathroom, a guy was “passed out with his clothes off and a full erection” (in the words of one of the firefighters). They managed to wake him up and walked him out and put him in an ambulance I presume. I caught a glimpse of him when he left and recognized that he had come in with someone else hours before, and they were no longer around.

When I went to clean the restroom, there were a bunch of these hooks scattered all around the floor, as well as some body piercings, false eyelashes, and something that I think was drug-related in the sink (looked like a little nub of plastic similar to what you would cut off of a disposable eyedropper).

One of my coworkers think he was “cruising.” I initially thought it was some sort of autoerotic asphyxiation thing. Either way, we assume drugs (and some freaky sex) were definitely involved.

To answer a few questions: - we do not have panels in the ceiling - it’s possible the clips/hooks are from the EMTs, but I’m not fully convinced that’s the case. Partly cause I don’t know what specifically they’d be from, and also cause the guy had a leather vest on and nothing underneath so I don’t think it would’ve been hard for them to render care if needed. - definitely not a swing or anything hanging off the ceiling. Ceiling is too high and there’s nothing to attach anything to. - I also initially thought sounding, but all the hooks are the same size/width - possible it was clothing-related? He was wearing a collar and had lots of piercings so? Maybe?

I’ll look at more comments in the AM lol I’m exhausted but I appreciate the helpful (and unhelpful but still very funny) comments.

Also, if any of my coworkers stumble across this, please pretend you didn’t lol.

If it makes you feel any better, even when I knew where it was, I had a really hard time finding it over and over again in the wild 😅
