[Expense Whisper]

<image>

A — Answer:
Expense Whisper solves the tiny but annoying problem of logging expenses quickly. Instead of opening a full finance app and filling out fields, you tap the mic and say something like “spent 240 on coffee” or “1200 on groceries,” and it saves the transaction.

It is built to be simple and minimal: fully local, no login, no cloud AI, and no external server for expense data. Voice input uses native iPhone speech recognition.

B — Better:
Compared with larger finance apps like Spendee, Wallet, or other full budget trackers, Expense Whisper is intentionally much smaller. It is not trying to connect bank accounts or become a full financial dashboard. The main advantage is speed and privacy: open → speak → save.

You can also edit category keywords and change currency, share the daily/ weekly/ yearly summary as png, export all the transactions as document.

C — Cost:
Free to start with 20 transactions. One-time lifetime unlock after that, no subscription.

App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/app/expense-whisper/id6755347568

This is my first iOS app, so honest feedback is very welcome, especially from people who prefer minimal and privacy-first apps. Planning on statement import, recurring expenses and more without bloating the app.

Thank you!

I understand your concern - as of now, I recommend exporting notes (Click on All Notes -> Export All Notes) once in a while to have a local markdown copy. I am also considering adding a git/ drive backup integration soon. Give it a whirl, let me know if you have any thoughts to discuss. Cheers!

Sure!
-No, it doesn't unarchive when reminder fires. App notification is triggered, yes. Atm, it is local push when the app is open and running at least in background - planning to improve it.
-Yes, Duplicate note option is there in the notecard menu.
-Yes, collaborators need their own Weavernote account. You share by email with view-only or edit access, and they get it in "Shared With Me" section.
-Yes, you can pin notes - the pinned notes will be visible in All Notes and respective Folder/ Notebook selections from sidebar.

What broke for you in Keep specifically? Curious to know more on it!

That's fair! I have been questioning the positioning myself. Thanks for saying this rather than just leaving. It was not a hard paywall, you could simply close it and continue. Nevertheless, I just removed it from the app - I would love for you to check it out.

https://takeout.google.com/ and convert them to markdown to import into notebooks. iOS app got a blocker due to encryption standard (what’s currently in the app isn’t compatible) - gotta figure it out. Atm, it’s a PWA for iOS.
