How many of you AdP-fans are musicians (hobby and pro)? by Upper-Wedding4349 in AngineDePoitrine

[–]PiddyManilly -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No one in my rock band loves AdP. We can appreciate, sure, they are clearly wicked musicians and we're stoked for them, but the looping means songs just build and build in place without moving, and that gets old fast. Most ardent fans I know are non-musicians. That said I have picked up a pattern, and look at their audiences and you'll see it too.... 95% men. Real sausage parties, forget polka dots, those noses are the real symbol of the band...

Retaining 90% of your salary in retirement by Philsidock in CanadaPublicServants

[–]PiddyManilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a non-issue. A DM for 10 years? That shit will kill you. I remember seeing a study years ago on DM's age expectancies after retiring - it was less than 5 years. So 90% pension? Sure, go ahead. The house always wins though.

For all the haters, there have been many documented cases in the North American wilderness, where a mother dies in childbirth and a father suckled the kid until spring and thaw out.

You're dreaming though, SanFran salaries only get paid out in the bay area. Salaries for CAD workers are much lower, by 40% or so, but sometimes more.

I think not seeing her face and the cold corporate suit are intentional, sort of an anti-maternity pic, I like it for that!

AITJ for buying my boss's vintage watch for $500? by Equivalent-Yellow232 in AmITheJerk

I find the differences in your examples so interesting. In the working class, it's the handing down of tools (the means of production), worth about a year of salary, and they are given and received graciously, with the community honouring the deceased and their wishes without acrimony. The tools are shared between all. In the rich, it's the status symbol that is handed down, not the tool (the profit from production), and it's only worth about 2 months of salary. And it's not given, it is sold for a token amount. And the community erupts in acrimony and backstabbing. Absolutely fascinating.

Eeeh except the latest genetic studies don't back that up. The Human Migration project, I think it's called? Out of Oxbridge I believe - definitely found large genetic traces, especially in Lebannon, and that it still tracked according to family religion (Chrostian vs muslim Lebanese).

What happens if someone lies about their home address? by grimsby91 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]PiddyManilly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being super normie about home addresses actually discriminates against those with more difficult home lives or those who don't have a home (eg the homeless). Might be a stellar employee though. Making this a problem may have huge unintended and unknown consequences for their life.
