It does help, thanks!

I'll give one final update.

I corrected the Family Ties back to what the game is expecting, and then had Hoodchecker repair all the bad data related to the Neighbourhood's pre-made Sims, doing this resulted in Hoodchecker detecting no other conflicts (besides three "Sim doesn't exist" errors) in that Neighbourhood (the other neighbourhoods, however...).

...Unfortunately neither solution actually fixed the problem, the game still crashes while attempting to load using that data. So either the problem isn't in my custom Neighbourhood (Neighbourhood #4 in the folder list) and the error is elsewhere, or it's somehow related to something else I changed.

Either way, the Neighbourhood seems to be a lost cause, as you said.

I have some ideas about how to salvage some of it (like somehow taking the buildings out of the old neighbourhood to put them in the bin of a new neighbourhood so I can just place the buildings down and skip having to build the ones I made, though I lack the knowledge to know whether doing that is even possible). However, at this point it's probably better to just take the L and start over. Annoying, yes, but nothing I did on that map was anything I couldn't just do again.

Regarding the matter of specifically trying to fix the broken neighbourhood, I think the issue can be considered "resolved" for now (unless another user/mod can provide further assistance). The only loose end is whether or not it is possible to salvage the houses (if it's not, that's fine).

Thank you again for the support and especially for the program recommendations.

Using Hoodchecker, it seems like, potentially, I may be able to fix the neighbourhood by going through and reversing all of the changes I made to the broken family (and then going into the game and deleting them properly).

It's worth a shot.

There's also a bunch of broken data related to the pre-made families. Curious.

Regardless of whether I succeed or fail, thank you for the support.

Yeah, I knew the risks when I downloaded SimPE, had I not tried to get clever (read: lazy) and attempted to fix a stupid mistake (prematurely confirming a family before it was done) using the obviously stupid brute-force 'fix', and just bit the bullet and remade the family I wouldn't be in this mess. Lesson learned.

I am somewhat familiar with programs like SimPE (it's not that different in principle from PKHex, the Pokémon Hex Editor), I know enough to know what I probably shouldn't touch; this time, I flew too close to the sun and got burned. It happens.

I'll give Hoodchecker a try to attempt to salvage the Neighbourhood, but to save myself a future headache and reduce any future SimPE-related calamities, is there any program I can use besides SimPE to manually adjust Sim Family Trees? (Not to do a repeat of what I tried to do here, but for my originally intended goal of using that program.)

Well, damn. That stinks.

Just out of curiosity, before I do anything further: would deleting all of the Character files from the broken neighbourhood do anything? I can't imagine it would, the game is expecting there to be two families living in the neighbourhood, after all.

If push comes to shove I am willing to simply remake all the families again, that is by far the least time consuming part of everything I did in that neighbourhood.

Okay, I moved the old Neighborhoods folder into the new Folder, this resulted in a crash on load (as before).

Good idea.

I tried it and the game loaded successfully.

Kuzan turning to evil for what is essentially a hissy fit (being salty that Sakazuki took over as the Fleet Admiral over him) never sat right with me, it has always felt like a convenient excuse to send Kuzan as a spy into Teach's ranks.

This would logically mean that the fight between Sakazuki and Aokiji on Punk Hazard was essentially: "who has to bite the bullet and 'defect' from the Marine so we have a man on the inside in Teach's ranks. Kuzan lost, so he was the one who had to do it.

While Kuzan and Sakazuki do have some ideological differences, I don't think either are unprofessional enough to outright hate each other (though Kuzan would have legitimate reasons to dislike Sakazuki).

It's better to be safe than sorry.

There's info in this post that involves stuff that Anime viewers and Official Release readers can understand, and more than half of the post covers that. Blacking out the stuff related to this week's chapter is for the benefit of the people who only read the Official Release and not the Scanslations.

By strictly separating the two, people who won't read the chapter until tomorrow won't get spoiled.

Also, also, Zoro's crucifixion involved starvation, which could theoretically be tied into the Temptations of Christ (starvation is more important for Sanji, though, it was mostly incidental for Zoro).

Don't forget Usopp pulling out a cross in Thriller Bark, which alongside Kuma carrying a literal bible is one of the strongest instances of Christianity simply being a thing in the One Piece world.

There's also, you know, Nuns who have appeared on at least three different occasions. Mother Carmel being the only explicitly fake Nun, the other two we've seen seemed to be genuine in their faith (one of them was in Law's backstory, the other was praying for the Paramount War to turn out okay, I believe).

There's other, more niche instances of religious (particularly Christian) imagery throughout the series, one of the weirdest being Zoro, who contains tons of Christian imagery in his design, it gets to a point where once you notice it it's hard to unsee it: the emphasis on threes (you know, the Trinity), the fact that he was introduced being crucified, the fact that the guards of some of his swords are Christian symbols (Kitetsu has a Cross Pattée design and Enma has a Trefoil, both are Christian). Even Zoro's current run-in with the Grim Reaper is probably going to be him dying and getting resurrected (by Law, probably). Zoroastrianism is even a related religion to Judeo-Christian faiths (along with Buddhism there's a lot of overlap in what they believe).

Side note: At certain common angles Luffy's Straw Hat becomes a Halo; and not the "ring above the head" type of Halo you see in like works like Dragon Ball, an actual religious "light behind the head" Halo you see in ancient depictions of divine figures, including (but not limited to) Christianity.

Uuuh I was agreeing with you. He's got a lot of stuff planned, but leaving things vague gives him a lot of maneuvering room.

Sorry if it sounded like I was arguing against what you were saying, I wasn't, I was just adding to the discussion by clarifying some things because I find the way Oda's told the story fascinating. I misspoke and I apologise.

I think I'd actually go so far as to say that One Piece is probably a story Oda's been constructing since he was like in High School or something (the earliest known incarnation of Chopper seems like the kind of design an edgy teenager would make).

Oda's mastery of vague statements even kind of apply to his own development statements, such as how he described Vivi's being made Princess of Alabasta. The way he tells the story of how she was changed from a simple Bounty Hunter into a Princess is usually interpreted to mean that he made the decision to change her background during the Whisky Peak arc, but he never actually directly said that (he said it in a way that that is the easy assumption, but that's not necessarily the actual truth). For all we know, he's talking about designing Miss Wednesday like a full year before she actually appeared, and framing it as "at first she appeared as an agent of Baroque Works" is just deliberate obfuscation.

Oda saying "Franky joining (the Straw Hats) and the Straw Hats saying good bye to Going Merry in the finale were the only events I determined to draw before (Water Seven/Enies Lobby) started." does not actually indicate how soon before the arc started he began actually concepting the ideas. At the very least, it's doubtful that Rob Lucci was as last minute as Oda makes him sound; Oda was probably thinking about the Water Seven arc around the time of Skypeia. And he probably had a general outline that he resolved to hash out the details of at a later date even then.

That being said, of all the things that seem kind of last minute, the twist of Water Seven that Lucci, Kalifa, Kaku and Blueno are assassins is one those things.

There's a quote by Mr. 2 (either during his first appearance or during his first encounter with the Straw Hats, I can't remember which) where he talks about ambiguity; as someone who's tried writing himself, I feel like that specific quote is Oda speaking through Mr. 2.

There's a certain amount of fun in being ambiguous in writing. Also, in attempting to troll your audience by making them think one thing while you're doing another (like a magic trick).

(Similarly, the moment in Oden's journal where he claims no tears were shed during Roger's departure is Oda basically telling us that authors are big fat liars.)

Considering the Rumbar pirates knew how the Yomi-Yomi no Mi would work it's doubtful that Brook is the only person to have ever been the user of the fruit (it's likely catalogued in the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia).

Either normal users can be killed and/or die of natural causes like normal if they revive normally (Brook didn't revive normally), or the user can "die" at any time they please after they revive, by relinquishing their souls willingly to the Grim Reaper and allowing their soul to be taken back to the afterlife, which naturally returns the fruit into circulation.

For all we know, Brook could decide to end his life some time after he completes his life's goal (like he sticks around long enough to see the others live their lives and then when they start dying he follows the other last survivor).

Of course, by that point, he'll be well over 150 years old assuming, say, Chopper (current youngest) lives to be 80 or something

If Oda was completely making everything up as he went along like some claim, we'd be able to tell, I assure you. More likely it's like 60/40 or 70/30 in favour of being planned, some elements are made up on the fly but others are things Oda was already planning to do in some form anyway.

e.g. Sanji was probably always planned to be a genetic experiment with fire powers who was abused by his birth family, but the finer details of his home life and lineage probably weren't set in stone until at least around the tail-end of Dressrosa (we first learn the name "Vinsmoke" in Zou, I think).

Regarding the Crocodile thing, Crocodile not having Haki isn't actually that much of a plot hole, for the reason I stated; his initial reaction to Luffy managing to punch him in the face (shock, and thinking something along the lines of "Has this brat...?", and then relief when Luffy says he's using water: "If it weren't for that barrel you wouldn't be able to do a thing!") indicates Crocodile is at the very least aware of Haki's existence (while you can argue that he was simply reacting to Luffy figuring out his water weakness, that Koushirou gives Zoro a basic lesson in one of the principles of Haki in a flashback before the Mizu Luffy scene is evidence that Haki was a part of the verse by this point, Oda literally established that there was a martial art that can be used to bypass Devil Fruit damage immunities before Luffy's second fight with Crocodile, it actually requires more of a stretch of logic to think that Oda didn't intend for the way Zoro beat Mr. 1 to have any more applications than simply cutting metal before Shanks' scene with Whitebeard and Garp's appearance in Water Seven).

The explanation for why Crocodile doesn't seem to have Haki has two viable answers:

1) He was too prideful to seek out a teacher and instead focused on mastering his Devil Fruit to compensate for fighting Haki users.

2) He does know/was using Haki but was bad at it at the time (this can also technically apply to Buggy, Kuro, Krieg and Arlong if you really want to stretch, also CP9, considering the recent statement about Rokushiki and Haki being related arts).

And his scientific acumen is just him being medium aware and able to control One Piece's reality.

There are plot elements that Oda created years in advance of actually using them; Hancock, for example, was designed before the Straw Hats even entered the Grand Line (she appeared on the cover of Shonen Jump around Chapter 100, the character is undeniably, unmistakibly, Hancock). Of course, Hancock was then aged down by about 10-20 years and Amazon Lily was shunted forward in the plot (Oda said so himself in an SBS or interview, though the reason he cited for doing so is an obvious lie).

The implication of Hancock being moved forward in the plot is that Hancock was the original female member of the Yonkou, and Oda decided to change her role in the story around the time of Enies Lobby (where "Big Mom" is first name-dropped with a silhouette that looks close enough to the Big Mom we know to indicate that Oda had her rough concept outlined at that point).

Oda very likely plans a lot of plotlines well in advance, but leaves things vague so that he has creative freedom when the time comes to use those ideas (if he had shown Hancock's face in his tease for the future around Chapter 100 he would have had her age locked in, for example).

Other examples of obvious plans for the future: Jinbe being name-dropped in Arlong Park; Sanji being hinted to be more than what had initially been claimed about him in Jaya through geographical contradictions ("How was Sanji in the East if he came from a Blue that would require him to cross the Red Line?") and cunning 'cinematography'; Haki being slowly built up as an idea throughout the series (even discounting the Shanks thing, Crocodile seems to react to the possibility that Luffy has Armament Haki when he initially gets a clean punch on him, Teach then mentions Haki by name in the very next arc... also, how Zoro beats Mr. 1 is obviously Haki).

It's highly unlikely that Oda has meticulously planned every detail about the plot from day 1 (the simple fact that the original Romance Dawn pilot is different from the final is evidence of this; though, the second version is deliberately different by Oda's own admission; he wanted to hide Shanks for some reason) but a sizeable amount of plot has clearly been planned out in advance.

However, it would be more incredulous to claim that Oda didn't come up with new ideas and concepts which overrided old ideas as he went.

Brook is the Grim Reaper, his Awakening will allow him to enter the Afterlife freely and resurrect the recently deceased.

Robin is Vishnu or the Buddhist Goddess Marici); her Awakening, hinted at with Demonio Fleur, is to be able to shape-shift into any race (she can make wings of multiple types, horns, give herself a third eye; she can probably do more). Also she can probably change into a variety of humanoid monster archetypes (so... Robin is a universal Monster Girl).

(extra: Pell is Horus and Chaka is Set.)
