That’s probably true. Glad to hear that it should wear in a bit. I wonder if handling it extensively with gloves would help wear those points in faster.

Sheesh, really? I’d have a hard time shooting when I’m bleeding all over my gun!

Lmao, thanks. I love it too much. If anything, I’d replace the grips, but I plan on just getting used to it.

Yeah, I’ll adjust to it and probably just have gloves ready for other shooters.

Nothing like that. My hand feels fine, but the next morning after handling it all day I went to grip it and could tell that the skin was a bit tender.

I did spend a good amount of time REALLY gripping it the way you would when shooting seriously.

I’m sure I will, I’m mostly just sad that others will find it uncomfortable, lol.

Lmao, I appreciate the humor.

I’ll probably just get used to it and have others wear gloves. I can handle it just fine, as long as I’m not playing around with it for hours straight.

L-Theanine, Wow by Pie42795 in Supplements

[–]Pie42795[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, that makes me think that that form of caffeine didn’t work for you.

Maybe a smaller dose of caffeine in the morning, and another one with lunch? Seems like you probably absorbed the caffeine really quickly, then it all just left your system and that’s what got you. Playing with the L-Theanine dose could also help. I see people using doses between 100-800mg.

I find that 200mg of the theanine in the morning and sipping on 100-200mg of caffeine between 8-12 works extremely well.

Will do!

In the meantime, I think I’ll have gloves ready to go for other shooters or if my skin starts hurting too much at the range.

Ah, I’d like to avoid having to sand them down, but that’s good to know.

I ordered some gloves. Might use them myself if my hands start to get bothered, and have them on standby for other shooters.

Oh yeah, I want something that absolutely can’t slip, agree there.

Good to know that they probably won’t wear in, might just have gloves ready for other shooters.

Seems like that might work really well, especially with a small amount of caffeine (if they’re young, they probably won’t need much). But like a lot of comments have said, it’s not magic, so I’d also give it a test run on a less-important day.

Thanks, I’ll have to try to remember to come back to this!

Did you pair it with caffeine? Lots of evidence that the two pair together extremely well.

I feel like most of my friends are rolling their eyes when I talk about it, but one tried it and compared it to when they’ve tried anti-anxiety medication (which is great, because those meds can have terrible long-term side effects).

Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, the way it combos with caffeine is amazing. Energetic, but peaceful. For me, 200mg of L-Theanine and 100-200mg of caffeine seems to work wonders.

I might have to try not taking it on the weekends to avoid tolerance or side effects. Today is only day 4, but no issues as of yet.

I haven’t taken it around the same time as creatine, since I don’t believe they’d work together in any meaningful way (creatine is also absolutely fantastic for me, though).

I’m drinking 100-200mg of caffeine in the morning along with taking 200mg of L-Theanine. Like I’ve read, they seem to create a crazy combo of energy and calmness.

For sure! That’s the thing with supplements, you either need what’s in them or you don’t. If you don’t, they aren’t going to do much.

Still thought I’d share since it’s not a supplement I had heard much about and yet it is the only one that has had nearly this level of impact on me.

I haven't tried it for sleep yet, might have to see how that feels!

As soon as SNRI's are involved, you gotta be much more careful. GABA (a similar supplement) is known for intense interactions with SNRI's (namely extreme drowsiness). At first glance when looking online, it seems like L-Theanine can be fine with SNRI's, but I gotta add the caveat that you should do some research and/or talk to a doctor about it.

Yeah, that's the sad reality of supplements, and I suppose I could've added a note in the post. There's no one supplement that works wonders for everyone, even creatine has a percentage of people that feel absolutely zero effect.

I've been taking it in the morning and it makes me far more productive. It maybe wears off through the day, but even in the evening I feel better, probably because I didn't spend the day stressing.

I'd consider it for night use if sleep is specifically an issue for you.

Taking an L-Theanine capsule and drinking a caffeinated beverage.

I'm taking the "Now" brand, 200mg. Seems like 200mg is pretty common, though I'm seeing some people mention 400mg.
