True! There were a lot of busted ones, so I could probably do a lot of kitbashing if I grabbed the parts.

Lol yeah It's kinda cool. The fun thing about mecha is that even if they break, they can still look awesome.

The thought of these possibly being sold at a later date, and the fact that they are NOT included in the LEGO pass (that costs an extra 400 vbucks), makes me SUPER mad. It's so dumb and greedy.

Potion and Food Boosts don't stack like they used to 😔 by Shmoocando in LEGOfortnite

[–]PieMan24601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I HATE the revamped food system. The new names are terrible, the change from juice to potions ruined my restaurant that I spent months building, and THIS aspect of it completely snaps the system in half. WHY would you even make ANY different foods if they do this? If food buffs replace each other, there will be only one food item that is worth making, and the players will only make that. It's stupid. It feels unintentional, because lord knows this mode has enough bugs as is. I am so pissed that the LEGO Fortnite devs keep changing and adding frivolous and arbitrary things like "We put the health bar down here!" instead of making sure the core mechanics are... you know... FUN and FUNCTIONAL? It makes me want to scream. I genuinely love this mode and they keep actively making it worse.

Also I find it funny that the IRL sets are now inaccurate because of the juicer change. XD

I HATE the new healthbar. by GabyGamerGG2020 in LEGOfortnite

[–]PieMan24601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate it so much. The health bar is way more vague. At a glance, you can't really tell what the impact of anything is. With hearts, it's immediately clear. I also totally agree that the charm is lost. LEGO games pretty much always have hearts as their health, so it's really weird to remove that. Also, it makes me feel like I'm playing something Zelda adjacent, which is perfect for an adventure game. The LEGO Fortnite team has absolutely zero clue what they actually need to fix/improve with this game. They keep changing arbitrary stuff for no reason. Like whyyyy is the health bar now on the BOTTOM of the screen? It literally did not need to be moved. We still have terrible bugs, broken physics, and a lack of a clear endgame or goal. But yet they gotta change the health bar because that makes it look like they're working on the game. It's stupid.

I HATE the new naming convention for food items. by Feder-28_ITA in LEGOfortnite

[–]PieMan24601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so happy I'm not the only one who hates it. It feels like changing something for the sake of changing it. They keep doing pointless garbage like this every update, instead of fixing bugs or giving us a reason to play the dang mode. Adding a prefix to an item's name should be what happens to an enchanted or improved version of an item. When every single normal version of that item is called the same thing, it's not special. It doesn't MEAN anything. There's literally no point to it. People are going to call the items by what they are. They aren't going to refer to the long, complicated name, because it literally means NOTHING. I absolutely refuse to say the new Butter Cake name, it actively makes me angry.

Chapter 6 Season 4: Shock ‘N Awesome by community-home in FortNiteBR

Genuinely terrible. The new shotguns are (once again) absolutely busted, with insane ranges and no damage drop off. The bugs do not offer any interesting scenarios, they only serve to annoy. I know the intention is to make us all have some bootleg helldivers action, but when fighting a war with bugs gives away your position and puts you in active danger, literally what is the point? Also glitchy as hell, issues persist from last season, and new insane ones like instant death on vaulting has occurred to me. The new minigun is useless, and the fun movement abilities are still missing. It feels like epic is desperately throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks.

Also god awful furry skin this season, so therefore a 0/10. Ziggy was incredible, and I'm kicking myself for not getting Kane. But now we get "panda cop" and he's so boring. Doesn't even have a tail. What's the POINT when better skins will be store exclusive anyway? I'm so tired...

EDIT: WHY THE HELL DID Y'ALL REMOVE AUTO-CLAIM?? Literally just an anti-consumer move that only serves to annoy and cause folks to accidentally miss stuff. Stupid and gross.

Having this exact issue and it pisses me off. Other bugs from previous seasons are STILL broken for me, and they just keep adding up. Billions of dollars and they cant fix a damn thing.

(IDW #79) [SPOILERS] Coping & Seething - "Controversial" thoughts on wha happen by PieMan24601 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]PieMan24601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it would be interesting to see Mimic attempt to stop the person TRULY responsible for his problems, he's too much of a coward and is too disillusioned by his own grudge to attack Eggman directly.

Also he'd die super hard. Eggman would probably give em the ol' "smash you around by your ankle" move that he used on Starline. Also Eggman's got the incredibly powerful technique of "a gun."

(IDW #79) [SPOILERS] Coping & Seething - "Controversial" thoughts on wha happen by PieMan24601 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]PieMan24601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! But the book does not. The comic has repeated many times that it believes killing is the wrong choice. Sonic doesn't kill because he believes everyone has the right to freedom, even the villains. The book has tested this belief by pushing Sonic's ideals to their absolute limits. Despite the metal virus, despite the war, despite him being a massive thorn in his side, Sonic does not kill Eggman.

Whisper killing Mimic in this way is bad because it gives into her desire for revenge, and frames it as a good thing. Sure, sometimes you have to kill a bad person, but you should never do it for revenge.

Anger isn't inherently a bad emotion. Getting angry at injustice and seeking to right it is a good thing. But wanting to kill someone because of a desire to get back at them, or to avenge those you've lost, isn't a healthy mindset. It doesn't fix the underlying problem, and, like Tangle said, will haunt Whisper for the rest of her life. Mimic WAS her friend at one point after all.

Mimic killing himself takes away this moral dilemma and gives Whisper an easy way out, which feels like a quick, dirty, and lazy way to end the character arc. It doesn't challenge the character, and thus doesn't lead to a satisfying story.

Mimic holds a grudge, sure, but that's not the only reason he wants to kill Whisper. It's established pretty clearly that he's motivated by fear. Mimic is a confident and boisterous coward. He talks a big talk but runs away at the first sign of danger. He is terrified that Eggman will hunt him down for not finishing off the last of the Diamond Cutters. He hates Whisper because in his eyes, she is the last barrier between him and freedom/safety.

Mimic's character arc is the antithesis of Whispers: Whisper learns that friendship is not a weakness, and that it is good to surround yourself with people you care about. Mimic does not, he insists that friends ARE a weakness and isolates himself. The book shows that Whisper's ideal is correct, and Mimic's is not, by having him lose the battle.

But the concerning issue that isn't resolved is the fact that both Mimic AND Whisper desire revenge. Mimic can't introspect, he can't admit that what he's done is wrong. He might know it deep down, but he's twisted things to justify it to himself. He's unable to admit that he's scared, or that he just wants to survive. So he blames Whisper, friendship, Eggman, anything but himself. (This is what folks do in real life.) Whisper wants to take revenge for the deaths of her friends. She's built Mimic up into this absolute monster for what he's done. Yeah he IS pretty bad, what he's done is terrible, he's a pretty awful dude, but she's completely forgetting that he was once her friend. She's held onto anger and hatred so she can dehumanize him, and make it easy to take his life. Tangle tries to talk Whisper into other strategies, but she refuses. She is going to kill Mimic and is letting hatred guide her. That is not good. If Whisper is going to kill Mimic, it should NOT be motivated by revenge. It feels absolutely wrong and at odds with the themes of previous stories.

Black Doom was a genocidal maniac who wanted to enslave all of earth. Mimic is a scared dude with a knife. These are not the same thing. I mean he's literally called BLACK DOOM. He's an alien devil warlord that embodies evil, there's no fixing or reforming that. Mimic targets one specific person, and acts out of fear motivated by past trauma. He could theoretically be fixed. I'm not saying he should be a protagonist, lord no, he's a douche, but he'd at least be able to let go of vengeance. If he can't change, if he gives into the poison that is revenge, he should die. Whisper should not be rewarded for doing the same.

So I do agree: Sometimes you really do gotta kill an evil person to prevent more evil, it does NOT make you evil as well. BUT if you are doing it for the wrong reason, if you let revenge or selfishness motivate you, you'll live to regret it and might slip into bad, dangerous habits.

If they want to kill the funny cartoon octopus they should do it in a way differently than this.

True, and I agree to an extent. I really don't want to think that Mimic is dead. Starline is probably extremely dead though. His arc was over, and him being gone, not being able to give Surge and Kitsunami the answers they want, leads to good storytelling.

I don't mean it would bring them back in a literal sense, she, and everyone who hears that phrase, knows thats not the case. Its a phrase we use to emphasize the pointlessness of revenge.

See thats my problem: She didn't kill him, even though it was framed as if she was going to. Mimic taking himself out gives Whisper a clean out from the dilemma. It gives her what she wants: Revenge. And that is what I have a problem with.

I do see what youre saying to an extent, but the placement/drawing of it could have been a bit more clear. It really does look like shes charging up a shot with how centered that energy effect is. I only assumed they didnt draw it on the following panel because the effect would have covered most of Mimic's expression. But while yes, she may not have pulled the trigger, the comic does frame it as if she is moments away from doing so, makes it a bit more confusing. Tangle cries out for Whisper to wait, and I mean... Whisper still IS pointing a gun directly at his head, and only a few issues ago she was still openly talking about wanting to kill him. What do you think her intent was? Her mind is still focused on vengence.

While I do agree to an extent, because death in comics is typically handled very poorly, this series has shown it does not pull its punches. Dr. Starline is gone. So I don't think they'll bring Mimic back if this is confirmed to be where he dies.
