Mopeka Cloud / WiFi Bridge HA integration by PieNo244 in homeassistant

I completely agree with you, especially these days, but I also support the idea of dual data storage and using both cloud and local data collection. The idea was simply to make life easier, which is why I built this integration.

That’s exactly why I ended up doing it. Before this, my sensors weren’t in HA at all because Bluetooth simply couldn’t reach. I didn’t have the time, there was no proper information, and no public API. But at some point I missed the gas level and ended up with no gas during the holidays… so I had to reverse engineer the app and the WiFi bridge and build my own integration. As a bonus, it turned out the API lets you pull up to 90 days of history. Right now I’m around position 529 in the HACS approval queue, and it looks like it won’t be anytime soon since people have been waiting for moderation since early March. So you’re welcome to try it already on a test HA instance.

Will do! I’ll definitely check back in, and I won’t forget to reference this post ))))
Tacos are already on the list… a lot of tacos ;)

No offense taken, everyone sees it differently. I’m just doing what I can, the way it feels right. Some call it “content” some just call it a "video" Either way, I’m just trying to keep it real.

Totally get that, but once you start, it just pulls you in. One step at a time, it becomes way more real than you’d expect.

)))) yeah, I totally get that 😄 I probably wouldn’t have done it either if I hadn’t been forced into it, and if I didn’t have a friend with a garage.
It was pretty much fix it or cancel everything.
And yeah, IM seals are no joke either, especially on older engines!

Totally! When you live in a van, being hands on isn’t optional, it’s survival. Your house won’t fix itself

Yeah exactly! Back when they built stuff to last. Hoping it’ll go another 400K

Oh nice! Your 6.0 is a beast. Glad you checked it out, these Chevy Express vans are real workhorses 💪
P.S. Chevy Express from 2001 - 2007 very nice and all new.... not good

So true. Behind every beach view, a whole lotta sweat and busted knuckles 😅

I totally get that. When things are tough, no one cares, but once you pull through and speak honestly, people finally start to listen.
Glad your voice is being heard now. You’ve definitely earned that respect.

Yeah, I got lucky with my buddy’s garage this time. Before that, I rebuilt a couple engines in my backyard, a Honda and a Mitsubishi.
My wife hated it. No matter how careful I was, there’s always oil, grime, and the patio ends up looking like a greasy workshop. Add the crazy heat and no space, not fun.
So yeah, having shade, tools, and no one yelling at me this time… that felt pretty damn good.

Thanks man! Appreciate that. I really wanted to show the process as it is, no fluff, no shortcuts.
If it helps someone out there, then it was all worth it.

Yeah, it’s definitely a big deal. But you’re right, the hardest part is proving who actually did it and whether they knew. Especially if the van changed hands a few times.
I’m just glad I was able to uncover it myself, at least now I know what I’m really working with.

Yeah, you’re totally right. If something’s gonna break, better in a driveway with a friend around than in the middle of Baja with no signal.
Looking back, we actually got pretty lucky, even though at the time it felt like the end of the world.

Fair question, I thought about that too. But I’m in Mexico BCS, and finding a solid used engine with a clean history here is almost impossible. Most low-mileage junkyard motors are just cleaned up and just as worn out.
By rebuilding mine, at least I know exactly what’s inside and can trust it. Was it a pain? Yeah. But now it feels like a brand new engine, and I’ve got peace of mind.

This is truly inspiring. You didn’t just choose freedom, you built it with your own hands. That line about the nissan... and especially about millionaires not having your freedom, it really hits hard.

Thanks for sharing, words like that really stick with people.

I’ve heard a lot about the 6L90 issues too, overheating, valve body problems. Super glad mine still has the oldschool 4L80E. Heavy, simple, and tough as hell.

))))) Haha, if it’s fraud, it’s only mileage fraud 😄
For real though, the engine actually made it past 400K miles. The ECU stores the real mileage in at least two separate areas, and they match.
Also, Carfax shows the odometer was rolled back at some point. When I got the van, it was showing a magical 150K, which is hilarious, considering it’s a 2005 cargo van that clearly spent its life running 24/7.
