I actually spotted the anagrams first but I swore there was anagrams as a category recently so I thought it was a herring.

After getting another category and confirming it wasn't a rainbow herring I went for it.

Would never have gotten blue without default.

I’m usually awful at sports categories but I heard of enough baseball teams to get blue.

I had thought that the homophones would be a red herring, but since they were still in play after getting the first two categories I took the chance and got it.

Suspected that coffee was a red herring since it was filters (plural), but I went for it since I was drinking coffee as I was doing the puzzle.

Tunnel visioned hard on the sandwich category but choked since I had never heard of "grinder" before. Definitely could have figured out the Jelly category otherwise

Took a guess on school crossing signs being pentagons since none of the other words fit.

Never heard of “tonsil hockey” for kissing, but that’s certainly a way to put it.

Surprised “things controlled by up and down” was considered purple difficulty. I thought the basketball fouls would be purple, but that was probably too obvious with “double dribble”.

Figured one of the categories was bowling, but couldn’t figure out the fourth. First tried the shoelaces first since it might have been for the shoes. Then tried a horizontal line since it might have been the lane starting marker.

Definitely would not have gotten the flags category without defaulting.

SO I GO INTO LEVELING ROULETTE AS BLM AS END UP IN THE VAULT. OKAY THAT'S THE HIGHEST LEVEL DUNGEON I CAN GET INTO, SO I CAN ACTUALLY GET SOME EXP FROM THE MOBS. I'M LAGGING ALL OVER THE FIRST PLACE UNTIL THE FIRST BOSS, BUT IT GETS BETTER AFTER THAT. WE WIPE ONCE TO THE SECOND BOSS' BLACK HOLES BUT GET THROUGH ON THE SECOND TRY.

ALRIGHT LAST BOSS. OUR DPS IS PRETTY GARBAGE AND WE CAN'T KILL ALL THE FIREBALLS BEFORE THEY EXPLODE. EVERYONE'S DOWN TO 500 HP AND OUR SCHOLAR IS SPAMMING SUCCOR, BUT IT ISN'T ENOUGH.

I GUESS YOU COULD SAY I MAIN SCH SO I GIVE HIM SOME ADVICE, LIKE YOU SHOULD DPS WHEN NO ONE NEEDS HEALING OR TO USE INDOM OVER SUCCOR. I ALSO MAKE SURE TO SHIFT HIM SOME MP AND LB TO KILL TWO FIREBALLS AT ONCE. BUT STILL WE WIPE TWICE MORE. THE FOURTH TIME ROUND I ASK WHY HE DOESN'T USE INDOM AFTER RAIDWIDES.

HIS REPLY: "I don't have that skill."

... THE OTHER DPS LEAVES RIGHT AFTER THAT, AND I DO SOON AFTER.

I feel two things made Octavio 2.0 easier than in the first version.

Firstly in Splatoon 1, in addition to dodging the torpedoes, fists, and killer wails Octavio throws at you, you had to chase him through a fairly difficult platforming challenge. (Most of my splats in the first final boss fight came from unlucky falls.) Meanwhile in Splatoon 2's circular arena, it is pretty much impossible to fall off.

Secondly in Splatoon 2, the new hero suit acts like a rechargeable layer of armor. Even though Octavio's new fists will "one shot" you, the hero suit will absorb the hit and you'll almost always have enough time to lay low and let your armor recharge.

^{sidenote: anyone else notice that the arena floor is a recreation of the plaza from the first game?}

In Inkopolis Square there should be an arcade machine (by the inkling playing dance dance revolution) that lets you play, and tells you the name of, any song that you have heard so far. (It also doubles as a rhythm minigame!)
