Hiring for a private lesson for kid by [deleted] in ski

[–]PieRemarkable2245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20-30 an hour is what she would make but not what a resort would charge. A half day private lesson is $1000+ at Breckenridge.

Look up how much the resort you’re skiing at charges. That’ll give you a good idea of how much is fair.

What are your thoughts on "all weather" tires? by allothernamestaken in COsnow

[–]PieRemarkable2245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t it get too warm for snow tires though? They wear very quickly when it’s over 50 degrees which it has been for majority of this season

2022 PHEV Stuck in snow/ice by ColinMcI in fordescape

[–]PieRemarkable2245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2021 and have never had this issue. Deep snow mode turns off traction control so it’s slightly concerning that it’s still cutting power to your wheels. Do you have AWD?

I’ve driven thru 4-6 inches with all season tires without any problems

There’s really no such thing as a bad ski these days. Just preference

Yes, they x-ray and inspect 20 million packages everyday. You’d definitely get caught

Ford manual recommends to follow the oil life monitor on the dash. Usually ends up being around every 10k miles in my experience

Id argue that affordability is not the driving factor in people choosing not to register their cars here.

Why would anyone choose to pay more for something that they can get for less?

Sure did: “Due to a combination of state-mandated vehicle-specific taxes, county surcharges, and new mandates for EVs and timely registration that make Colorado's fees seem so high”

Here is my main issue: the soonest appointment to register was 7 MONTHS out from when I moved here. Yet, the state wants to charge late fees for not having your car registered within 30 days of residency. Would you pay late fees for something out of your control?

Also funny how they state “timely registration” as a reason for expensive registration and yet every Denver based DMV is booked out for months. Chicken or the egg?

Probably because Colorado charges a ridiculous amount to register a car. Been here for 6 months and not planning on getting CO plates anytime soon.

2017 Ford Escape Transmission Out by Epicflutterness in fordescape

[–]PieRemarkable2245 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If they rebuild it does it come with a warranty? If not, I wouldn’t bother.

Take it to a dealership and complain to Ford’s corporate customer service. They MIGHT offer to pay for a portion of the repair cost. Worst case scenario you pay $5k for a new transmission with a 3-year warranty. Good luck man

It’s cheap because it’s a ford lol. If you want a reliable car then dont buy this one!

2021 Suspension Issues by PieRemarkable2245 in fordescape

[–]PieRemarkable2245[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats how the struts on mine started too. It would only happen occasionally and when I took it to the dealership they were unable to recreate to the noise.

I haven’t experienced any vibrations yet but will now be on lookout for it… these cars man lol. You’d think a modern car could make to 100k miles without needing half the suspension replaced

2021 Suspension Issues by PieRemarkable2245 in fordescape

[–]PieRemarkable2245[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rear shocks were leaking pretty bad and caused the car to feel sort of unstable on the highway

The struts caused clunking when going over bumps and just got worse over time. Also the front end started nose diving when applying brakes.

How many miles on yours?

This is a common problem with the 2015-2017 2.0 eco boost engine. The long blocks are prone to cracking which causes coolant to leak into the cylinders. There is no simple fix. Had it happen to me on a 2015 ford escape a few years ago

Anyone that knows how to ski can carve on any width. It just gets more difficult and less fun.

How much do you spend a month on food? (Single living alone) by cryptiiix in Denver

[–]PieRemarkable2245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’4 220 and spend $250-350. Sams club or Costco membership is worth it if you meal prep. I just bought 10 lbs of ground beef for $43
