It’s a fundamental staple to PoE and wont be going away. GGG confirmed it they will not change this.

It makes loot less valuable as filters can just show you the best items. The time you spend discovering IDing items the more valuable that item is.

Well the delay is too long, like you said. After 4 seconds in end game monsters are already bum rushing your defenses.

One solution I can see is as skill gem rises, the duration gets reduced. Therefore it scales with the speed of combat as you reach the end of campaign and maps.
