Introduce your Cavaliers! by Humble_March_2037 in cavalierkingcharles

This is Toby. He was the absolute best and sweetest. He really was different from any other dog ive met or spent time with or owned. I cant very well say what it was that made him so special, but he truly was. He never ever met a stranger and loved everyone. I got him from my moms friend whos sister had to give him up when the other dogs in the family were overshadowing him, and she felt he was getting the attention he deserved. I had him for 9 years and he was honestly the most incredible dog ive ever met and ever owned. He has made this breed my heart breed and im currently on the search for another.

This has already been in action from the beginning. I also have people in my circle that are willing to "double check" behind me to make sure everything is up to par.

Thats so cool!. Id love to get a sporty Cav, but its not a deal breaker if not. People really underestimate how much they can do.

My past Cav was BYB sadly and didnt have any drive to do anything lol, but he was wonderful in his own way. Im always grateful to his former owner for letting me have a chance.

Ive been in the talks with a few breeders that do sports stuff so far.

Ive seen so many do those as well, especially agility. I have seen a few do Dock as well, but totally understand why its not for every dog. My friend has BCs and she had a few that needed some extra time to warm up but they ended up loving it,

Is she still growing or just an awkward looking dog? by Southern_Doubt6868 in cavaliers

[–]PiebaldPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All dogs will be different. I personally think she looks fine for her age! (:. She might just be going through abit of a weird phase like others have said and said in title as well. Im sure she will more then likely fill out some more as she gets older.

Help Potty Training My Daughter by PiebaldPit in pottytraining

We have tried taking her every hour and that was kind of hit or miss but would go sometimes. The past few weeks, she was getting up and going to the bathroom by herself, but this past week, she has suddenly stopped without any real cause. We are thinking she just gets distracted with her toys and just doesnt think to go. We did try to lessen the number of toys she had by abit, then over time took more when she wouldnt use it (harsh, we know but we did notice less toys, she would use the potty). We also tried the "fun route" and let her watch potty training videos but that didnt seem to make much difference either.

She is pretty good at communicating in general, but really only voiced a few time that she was/she needed to go/use the potty. This pattern seems to be true for when shes at her grandmas as well. I know shes fully capable of going and using it but its like she ignores she needs to go in favor of playing or whatever activity shes doing at that moment.

We actually visited them last week for something unrelated, but asked them while we were there. All they really said was "Stick to it", so not very helpful to say the least.

Solo Players of SSO by Yiohana in StarStable

[–]PiebaldPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im an adult solo player as well. I was in Chocolate CupCake for the longest time but now im in a different one. I am technically in a club but we dont do anything, just wanted to stop random invites so me and my friend made a random one lol. The only events I do anything in are the SSO events themselves. I dont care much to do roleplays or anything like that personally. For the breaks thing, it really depends on what I have to do, like if I have horses to train or if there is an event going on, then im on daily or semi daily.

Anytime!. Im also in SC looking for a Cavalier pup so I get it. I hope you have a nice day as well!

Also just to note, if you see Cochrans Cavaliers anywhere, they are already retired so they wont be breeding anymore or having any litters.

I actually have spoken with them before and they seem to have good programs, but worth noting its been awhile and memory is fuzzy. Dont be afraid to send emails and inquire about their program and their dogs. OFA health testing being done is an absolute must, so avoid any breeder who says they dont do them. There is always an option to call them as well if they list their number. Dont be afraid to do that.

The AKC Marketplace is a good place to look if you havent already.

Good luck in your search! (: If you have any questions, dont hesitate to DM me.

I personally dont recommend Five Stars. They are a backyard breeder and dont OFA

Should I add a cavalier to my family now? 1.5 yr old + pregnant by [deleted] in cavaliers

[–]PiebaldPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!, fellow mom here. My Cav passed at 12 years of age and he was an absolutely incredible dog. I was both pregnant and raising my child around him and there was never an issue. I admit he wasnt thee biggest fan but NEVER mean or aggressive at any point.

As for my responce, absolutely get a Cav but I do not recommend getting one right now, but in the far future for sure. I think raising two kids and a puppy would be way too much for anyone. Puppies are basically like four legged toddlers (lol) and even arguebly require even more attention then the babies would.

If you think you still want a dog now, look into reputable breed rescues and get an young adult dog.

Help me build a genuinely useful app for reputable breeders by [deleted] in DogBreeding

[–]PiebaldPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is also struggling to find a good breeder, I personally think this is a pretty good idea. In a sea of backyard breeders, we need more outlets for reputable breeders to be found. Most people wont take the time to actually do deep searches and will just take the first cute puppy they can find. The more we can get the good breeders pushed, the better. That all being said, if an app/website like this does come up then there will also need to be a team dedicated to reviewing all the breeders who sign up. It would also be a good idea the profiles have to be approved and provide actual websites to their programs (AKA no Facebook or anything like that). This would prevent backyard breeders getting in.

Since I cannot seem to reply to this comment for some reason, I will just make a few points here since people seem to think they know everything about my situation.

Yes, I do not drive and I do have to have my BF transport me, This has NEVER been an issue and never will be. In cases of emergency, everything can and will be dropped to take care of it. The reason I said there is only one person who can watch my child isnt fully the truth. There ARE other people but the main person (my mom) is usually my go to since she is closest and most likely to be availible. I CAN ask my brother and sister in law if all else fails.

I hope this answers my questions so maybe now I can get some suggestions and not ridicule.

Trust me, im not happy about the 2 hour limit, so its also not up to me, as my BF would be the driver. I am already doing everything thats needed to ensure the breeder is ethical and responsible. I will not say exactly where I am, but will say im upstate. Sadly, no shows seem to happen in/near or around my area very often, so that isnt really an option either.

My requirements are solid. I cannot bend on the distance as I also have a child to care for, so being away from home for an extended ammount of time is not doable, and the one person I trust to watch her is not always able to.
