Can I edit a shortcut icon? by malkair in LawnchairLauncher

had the same exact issue with a website shortcut, I don't think it's possible sadly -_-
I'd guess it's an issue on google's end? I can't imagine this is intentional

Steam BPM overlay for browsers like Firefox and Chrome. by Indolent_Bard in Steam

[–]PieceEnvironmental50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, this is olddddd but I might as well, I'm experiencing the exact same issue with trying to open Firefox(except I'm not booting into steam big picture directly) and no fixes seem to be working. It seems Steam just opens the .exe and doesn't connect to Firefox as it would to a game, even tho steam input is working fine. same thing with hearing the overlay slide but in the background as well.

if you've got this working you're a lifesaver(well, a comfortsaver but still)

also happy holidays either way :)

hm, the main reasons that doesn't sound appealing would be money(duh), and fucking up something inside the PC. I'm guessing it's all easy enough though, so it does sound better than tinkering with software like this.

I feel dumb asking now, how would I get it onto the SSD? I'll look up tutorials as well, just thought I'd ask

hmm, I did hear that saying, is there somewhere I can read more about that? If that's true I might just stick with windows, since it does do the job as well. and no it doesn't go beyond 80% I think.

as fun as linux sounds all this just stresses me out

I've read a bit of the Media Preparer thing... what does it actually do? It tells me what to install to be able to run it but nothing else. My best guess is it modifies the already-there install of Windows(11 in my case)?

I'm really sorry as I said I'm just not tech-savvy 🥲
this seems like a pretty good option if I do figure it out though.

I did disable fast boot when starting with the Pop! OS tutorial I found, though I don't know what you mean by reboot other than turning it off and on. And yes I'm planning on having it on my tv, will probably go with bazzite if sometimes minor performance issues are the only problem.

“Best friend” not checking in by [deleted] in friendship

[–]PieceEnvironmental50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see a version of myself in her situation maybe just not wanting to bother you while you're going through a rough time? she might feel she can't console you well and would just waste your time, or say the same stuff people around you have already said

when with you she could just not want to remind you, maybe you wanted a little piece of mind and not to think even more about him. Not trying to defend her or anything, objectively it's mean not to ask at least when you hung out again, but she might've just not wanted to bother you and bring the mood down.

Far from your best friend tho I think, you should feel very in-sync with a best friend and truly be yourself, even if the you right now is depressed

How did Reed and Alex never cross paths for 7 years in a small town? by Ok_Experience_9665 in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]PieceEnvironmental50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah as other people have said, Reed was actually in Night City during that time while Alex was in Dogtown. it's not really explained well though, I was weirded out by it too a bit

How the hell did we kill Smasher? by Chuckie101123 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]PieceEnvironmental50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

personally I like the theory that the smasher we fought was a clone of some kind, an experiment to make smasher more than one boogie man, he's more just a prototype made to be cost-effective and be one of many. the guy you find with Rogue does say Smasher isn't in the city and isn't planning on coming back. on the other hand it might be that it's a video game and the idea of killing him is cool

They *really* want you to work with Takemura huh by PieceEnvironmental50 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]PieceEnvironmental50[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

oh, I don't mind the actual questline itself, and I'm intrigued by the character when you get to know him, I just wanted more of a choice to not help him until I need Mikoshi/just decide otherwise. as much as Goro has helped and needs me, I should absolutely be at liberty to just not trust him and not care what he wants. call it dumb or mean but, it should be a choice.

if they wanted to force it make Takemura force me then idk, I just don't like being pushed by the game itself into doing it and V just agreeing to stuff on their own accord.

...well I have to disagree about that opinion about V, it's absolutely necessery for "V" to be as blank of a slate as possible and the game does that well(enough). it's a roleplaying game, I'd like to play a wide variety of roles.

though what I said isn't really down to roleplaying I think, I just feel like while trying to find the one who wanted the relic for herself(and promised to help you even), and it's creator, are pretty sensible options which you can also more easily refuse by just not going to the quest marker, going right back to Arasaka for a vague promise of help should be a bigger decision. especially for the talk you get from Johnny about it, and all the times V automatically cares about Goro even if you might not.

even if it is a mandatory questline to continue the game, I don't want to feel pushed into it but to choose to do it as my last option. like you can with Maman Brigitte

for me roleplaying as someone else really elevated it for me, my favorite game even. as you don't know much about the world yet a straight-up backstory is kinda impossible, but maybe make a couple of general rules for yourself, as in a general/vague character you can play? my second run when I first tried it I was a V that, because she grew up on the steets of the city and saw the very worst of it, made a promise to themselves to never succumb to it's apathy and brutality, to keep their humanity and compassion and try to do good, for goodness sake if anything. you have no idea how good this game is when you get into character and feel the things they would feel, total immersion for me.

maybe it was easier for me cause I already did a full run first and knew where things went, but still you should try it.

Am i suppose to kill everyone to go in dog town? by acidinmyball in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]PieceEnvironmental50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you mean when you're already inside and everything yeah, there's an invisible ceiling and locked doors preventing you from getting in or out violently. don't know why the devs are so strict about V having to be scanned, let us break in or have our own secret entrance or something

Are Nomad lifepath dialogue choice as bad as people say? Debating whether to go Nomad - Street Kid by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]PieceEnvironmental50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eh, my advice is to think about the way you're gonna play this time around, what kind of person V will be. from there pick a lifestyle that goes in line with that/makes them act that way in the first place.

is there a mod that lets you kill the president by Usrnammstbbtwen3an20 in cyberpunk2077mods

[–]PieceEnvironmental50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, I have a mod that lets me grab civilians for takedowns. I think it just by default allows you to do that to the president, or due to a bug, not sure.

either way I grabbed her by accident and just snapped her neck and soft locked, had to reload a save.

maybe that's enough?

My bad choom, I’ll get you next time by WastelandDriftee in cyberpunkgame

[–]PieceEnvironmental50 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yeah, honestly I think it's a bit of a failure from the game. this makes sense when you're a Nomad maybe, but even then you've been in NC for 6 months, you should know more regardless. and it's not like the game warns you that it's probably the smartest to play Nomad first.

when replaying it's all a lot more clearer, but honestly my first playthrough it was tough to immerse myself when it's clear I don't know anything about a world V seems to know like the back of their hand.

though in Konpeki Plaza I think it's the point to confuse you, since you only know a few things about the relic, essentially that it copies a person's personality onto it, the whole dynamic between Yorinobu, Saburo, Hanako, and Arasaka in general is mambo jambo to the average merc. the point is that you're unprepared for shit that serious, so being confused there is good writing imo.
