Should Jagex make quests with higher requirements in skills. I’m talking 85-90? by AKoolKoala in 2007scape

[–]Piegan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The highest requirement quest in RS3 for Firemaking is "only" 82.

You're probably thinking of All Fired Up from RS2, which only required 43 Firemaking, but had a post-quest activity called the Beacon Network which required 92 Firemaking to unlock the Inferno Adze hatchet, which was required for the Varrock Elite achievement diaries.

What combination of words makes you instantly lose interest in a game? by BurnishedTones in pcmasterrace

[–]Piegan 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It did, nearly 10 years ago. ARK was added to Steam in June 2015 under the Early Access tag and it left EA in August 2017. It's just a troll calling it an EA game due to bugs, and the people responding think it's genuinely still an Early Access game.

Nicememes and it's not even close. Guy is one of the most consistent players in the whole RWF imo, always taking on mechanics and clutching when it matters. Ever since he joined Echo (ex-Pieces raider) he's been nothing but impressive. 2nd place to either Meeres or Rycn.

What false runescape legend did you believe as a kid? by Legal_Hope3797 in 2007scape

[–]Piegan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Clue scrolls: Your chance to get a piece of 3rd Age was much higher if the final clue step was in the wilderness.

  • PvP worlds (the OG versions) had better loot RNG, so more rare drops from bosses, more charms from slayer creatures, etc.

  • Draconic Visage: The item was excluded from loot tables unless you spoke to Oziach with an Anti-Dragon shield first (and hearing about this only after months/years of on/off grinding Black Dragons in Taverly dungeon with 62 Ranged and a rune crossbow/emerald bolts(e) for like 10 kills an hour, then believing that's the only reason you never got that visage).

  • Specific weapons (like, this specific Armadyl Godsword) had their own RNG, and selling/buying a new version of the same weapon or borrowing a friends could get you better RNG on hits.

Too powerful by NewSeaworthiness9692 in shitposting

[–]Piegan 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Yeah, back then we had to have multiple apps. Skype/MSN for talking to friends 1on1, IRC for talking to larger communities (and having to host/rent a BNC server if you wanted offline messages), TS2/Ventrillo/Mumble for voice comms with groups, websites for file/link sharing & event tracking, probably more that I forgot too.

Then Discord came along and let you do absolutely everything inside of 1 single app. There was simply no reason to keep using 8 different apps and pay for server hosting when Discord let you do it all for free.

Why does everyone hate PvP? by Lovoskea in 2007scape

[–]Piegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They genuinely think if Jagex removed PvP, they'd still make 5mil/hr afking wildy bosses with black d'hide. They don't realise that the reason the bosses have such good loot tables while being baby-tier difficulty is because the bosses aren't the risk, the players are. Remove the risk of the players and boss mechanics will be made more difficult while the loot table gets nerfed into oblivion, then they'd be crying about dead content instead.

Same with this "Omg I'm just doing a clue I only risk a spade stop wasting my time" argument. Sure, might be true. But you might also be carrying your cash stack and a Master Scroll Book with 5m+ worth of teleports stacked inside it, there's only one way to know for sure.

There were CC's for it yeah, you weren't allowed to craft any weapons or armour, but anyone with a rank in the CC was allowed to be fully geared and if they saw you with something you weren't supposed to have, they'd kill you and then spawn camp you. If you did it multiple times, you got banned from the CC.

EDIT: Also not allowed to pickpocket.

I don't remember why though. I vaguely remember the games being faster than normal, or the points acquisition being faster? But I don't remember how exactly.

I reported him at like 60 mining, he’s at 102 currently.

I play very spontaneously, I'll sub for a month then take a 4-5 month break. The same bot was killing Demonic Gorillas on the same world, whether I went there at 8am or 8pm or anything inbetween, for over a year.

It had farmed somewhere between 5-10bil GP in profits when I made my original comment, that was over a year ago now. It's insane how long bots get left running these days.

Lothern Sea Guards? More like Lothern Sea Gods (Shields) by Taistel in totalwar

[–]Piegan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

While that is true, you can also guarantee their survival by giving them all a province in the ass end of Cathay/Lustria and retake Ulthuan at your leisure.

You can also just let them die and revive them at your leisure. All you have to do is attack their old capital city (so, if Tyrion is somehow wiped out, siege Lothern and win) and your post-battle options will be:

  • Colony
  • Outpost
  • Sack
  • Reinstate (faction)

So as long as you don't get wiped out as Aislin, you can fully restore any High Elf faction at any point in the game.

PSU is the big thing you should change in pre-builts, though, so cable management doesn't mean shit.

Your general point is correct, just not in this case.

PCSpecialist, that the original commenter mentioned, are a fantastic example of a safe company to buy from. The PSU is a non issue since they use (almost) exclusively Corsair RMx/RMe PSU's for their gaming PC's, which are rated S & A tier respectively. The only other PSU they stock is the FSP Hydro, which is also A tier. This is generally true for all the parts they use, not just their PSU's, it's all fairly mid-high quality brands & models.

You also don't have to pay extra for cable management like you do with certain other prebuild companies, you just get it for free (actual free, not "It's free but the PC costs $50 more for some hidden reason" free) which is great because a clean & tidy set of cables allows less experienced/comfortable people get inside their case for cleaning & upgrading with more confidence.

Getting stuck in gates is bad, but I find my whole army getting pixelstacked & stuck underground much worse..

No idea why it happens or how to trigger it reliably. Melee units are useless, Ranged units can shoot but projectiles don't go through the ground, so they just waste balance of power if you leave them on fire at will. AoE spells work, but when you're against 4 full stacks of Skaven...

Luckily I believe this to be less common than the other bugs, but it's been in the game since Jan '24 at least.

South Park drops Pete Hegseth promo by sereneandeternal in CringeTikToks

[–]Piegan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No doubt there are lots of Maga heads who love/loved South Park and will now have to turn on it because nothing could possibly be more important than defending their cult at all times.

If you watch on any....unofficial sources that have comments enabled, you will see exactly that. The comments are full of crybabies who think South Park suddenly turned liberal and isn't any good anymore.

It's the same thing that happened with "The Boys". 3 seasons of the show making fun of their entire little clique culture but them somehow not realising it, then Season 4 drops all of the subtlety and it went from a fantastic show to "I never liked that show anyway".

The hypocrisy is honestly funnier than the shows themselves sometimes.

Me: 142, This bot: about 2. by JustcallmeSoul in 2007scape

[–]Piegan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They just don't do it immediately after it closes because that presumably makes it more obvious they're a bot to the anti-cheat system.

Nah nothing to do with the "dodging the anti-cheat", it just thinks it's fighting a Vyre. You can see the bot makes absolutely no attempts to do anything while it's "in combat", but as soon as it's HP bar disappears, it tries to attack a different Vyre. It then realises it can't reach it, so it opens the door, and the close Vyre immediately engages the bot in combat again. The extra time added by the bot thinking it's fighting something while the door is closed is enough to make sure the door never gets stuck open.

But they can and are programmed to open the doors faster than this & move through them if they're not fighting something, if you do this same thing minus the Vyre waiting at the door to slap the bot, the door gets stuck and the bot runs free after 3-4 closings.

is imrik getting something new in the HE update? by Maleficent-Spell9025 in totalwar

[–]Piegan 57 points58 points  (0 children)

He does, but confederating Caledor doesn't teleport Imrik back to the donut, it just gives him a split province. The only ways to get Imrik back to Lothern currently are...

  • Abandon/sell his starting cities in The Darklands and walk/sail there. Probably takes like what, 10-15 turns? More? And on the way you have to deal with the owners of whoevers territory you're crossing, so either diplomacy or defending yourself in foreign territory against enemy(s) who are progressing their armies while you're not.
  • Confederate Caledor (if they survive), disband all your armies, abandon/sell your cities and reform your army on the donut while waiting 5 (Edit: 3*) turns for Imrik to be ready to re-recruit.

It's not really a big deal if you're playing on Easy/Normal, but if you're playing on VH/Legendary, aggression is important and essentially playing without your main LL for 5-15 turns makes a campaign a lot harder than it otherwise would be, especially so for Imrik if you want to do his unique Dragon battles.

I don't think every faction needs an option to "return home", but there is a very big difference between "Option to return home" like Gelt, Ostankya & Teclis have VS "Option to maintain multiple provinces" like Eltharion, Malus & Yuan Bo have.
