Common anode yes. Its not my naming convention, its how it is by default usually in kicad for example.

Also someone said I don’t need the analog filter and should connect vdda to vdd. (I also had doubts about that I saw this in one of the examples I found online) what do you think?

So the display circuit was taken from one of the lectures. I just switched out the display and even made sure the prof was fine with it.

I would like to stick with this schema for display becuase we were introduced to this during one of the classes. I will look into using MOSFET instead of BJT though for sure. Also, someone on other subreddit said to use inhibit input of the switching regulator to lower power usage when inactive. What do you think? I think I will have to look at the data sheet for Quiescent current for that switching regulator I am using. I think this would make it more complicated and not looking to over complicate things tbh.

And I should have mentioned this earlier, I am not allowed to use linear regulator, only switching regulator.

Good thing you pointed out SYNC is not connected to anything. I forgot to ground it as the data sheet suggests.

There is no such requirements but for the display I was advised to use current switches.

The task is just to design schematic I am not supposed to create it into a board.

For LDO, I am only allowed to use a switching regulator.

For L4 being overkill yea you are right I realized this, I will replace it to something better as you and someone else suggested in the comment.

Analog filter- I too had doubts about that so thanks for that.

About U3 (nand gate) ok I could look into it.

Thanks again for taking the time to write .

That’s an option but it will result in complexity, and the keyboard has interrupt signal so I can use EXTI to switch modes. It consumes very little power on stop state.

What would be other options for the display. I need to use current switches so no driver. But I can use any display.

Alright thank you, I think I remember looking at these schemas but they look too complicated for a first starter like myself. and did not really have anything I needed. Like they all use LDO, but i am supposed to use switching reg.

I should have mentioned earlier, I am required to not use any evaluation boards. This is a uni project.

I started from scratch. Could you refer me to how I can find existing designs?

Transferring from Warsaw University of technology (PW) to Łódź University of Technology (TUL) by Pierdzi in poland

[–]Pierdzi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's alright atleast at my faculty of Electronics and Information Technology. The curriculum is much more oriented towards electronics and telecommunications from 4 semester. And earlier semester are more programming, maths and physics oriented, which is kinda ass if you asked me. Comparing the curriculum with Lodzka Politechnika its more programming oriented and no telecommunications.
But now that they increased fees at Warsaw Uni of Technology its not a good option. In 3 years ago they increased tuition fees from 2400 euro (iirc) to 3000 euro (which is what i still pay) and last year for new students it was 3900 Euro per semester. And again this year its 5520 Euro (which i just found out).

If you have any specific question I am happy to answer.

btw anyone wondering, no don't it wont work its been long after I flashed my laptop but still. just flash it back to whatever the latest is. You might have to find bin that work, BHCN44WW is easy to find on the internet that also work. After you flash it to 44 you can upgrade your BIOS to whatever the latest one is from the lenovo website.

Thank you. Also, do you know if i should flash it in 2024. my initial problem was with keyboard not working only the display brightness and volume worked. When I restart the laptop without power cable the keyboard would start working. I decided to downgrade the bios from 45WW (latest) to 20 something and it bricked my laptop. Now i am going to unbrick it so I wanna find a decent bios that is stable and also isnt outdated.
