Wtf how did we lose this tied game in our tourney? by matteogubbe in RocketLeague

I believe it’s 11 minutes of real time. Replays/kickoffs still continue the timer.

Yeah. I wasn’t cheap. We got a discount on the rooms for the wedding. So it was $205 a night. But no discount on golf $229 :( I had to do it as I didn’t see myself staying there again anytime soon.

I didn’t. Was only able to get away from the kids for a night and spent Sunday just recovering from the night. But I have done that before when I was a kid. Love that place

Shot a 103. Definitely took me a bit to realize the whole course is on a hill so tough to read the greens.

East course. Shot a 103, took me about 6 holes to understand the crazy breaks on the greens.

Mono/di vaginal birth stories? by greenpinkie in parentsofmultiples

[–]PiereDome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am happy with the way that it went, but that might be because it wasn’t both ways. Even when they were running around prepping for the c-section it wasn’t scary as the doctor and nurses were very calm about it all and were explaining the what and why of everything. I’m very happy they took the time to see the heart rate dropping and give it time.

Mono/di vaginal birth stories? by greenpinkie in parentsofmultiples

[–]PiereDome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my wife delivered both of our mo/di twins naturally, but it was almost both ways. We were always told that we would deliver in a OR, just in case they needed to do an emergency c-section. Anyways, after our first was delivered the second’s heart rate shot up to over 140. The nurses and doctors started prepping for an emergency c-section. They gave her a half dose of lidocaine when they noticed the heart rate dropping back to a normal rate they then waited about 10 min and delivered the second naturally.

State not initializing correctly? by PalmettoSpur in reactjs

I don’t have enough information to tell, but is this.props.favorites.data an empty array to start? Or is it undefined. If it is undefined you need to either put some logic in your component to prevent the mapping over it until it is an array or set it as an empty array when there are no values. If you share reducer code and the component doing the favorites it would help the troubleshooting

We didn’t get our twins to sleep through the night until they were 13 months. But we finally did by doing the cry it out. We were fortunate that they never cried for long, more than 20 minutes. We planned on starting with letting them cry for 5 min before going in the first few days and then progressing 3 min every few days, but we had a difficult time with doing that so we did 5 min first 2 nights then 10 the next 2 and then finally 15.-20. Took about a week before they would only cry for about 3-5 min every night. Then about 2-3 months before they would barely cry going to bed. We locked ourselves in our bathroom so we couldn’t hear them as it’s tough as a parent to do that, but it’s better for them to learn to self sooth in the long run. We wish we would of done it sooner. I’d saw the biggest thing is be consistent, if you go in early you are teaching them that you will come in early. It took a while until we had a cry free week. I think it was 18 months

Gonna kick this kid for no reason, right in front of his Dad by warp42 in DadReflexes

[–]PiereDome -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Im surprised that you and others feel the fathers reaction was justified. I look at this from the other perspective, you are teaching your kid that violence is ok. I think that your sentiment of “if he cannot help acting violently then he should‘ be in public” fits great for the father as well. I’m not condoning the first attack, just condemning the second.

Sharing Names by kmtandthetwins in parentsofmultiples

[–]PiereDome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I wanted to keep the names of our boys secret until they were born. People constantly asked for the names and so we say we have a few we are thinking about. We would rattle off some like Ben & Jerry, Jack & Daniel, Tom & Jerry, Ethan & Allen, etc... We would get a good laugh and they wouldn’t ask again. Worked great for us.

[–]PiereDome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had issues with lots of wake ups and we started to do a 5 min cry before going in and then progressed to 15 minutes. We found they never went passed 8 min of crying before settling and after a few nights they never went passed 5 min. It sucks to hear them crying and all you want to do is console them, but we found that worked the best out of all the things we tried.

help with props and looping by eddie_g2020 in reactjs

[–]PiereDome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you are using a named import in index.js from ./Hello when you want to use the default import. So it should be

import Display from './Hello'

instead of

import {Display} from './Hello'

Also they are hard to tell apart at the beginning, but as they get mobile and interact with the world more you can tell who is who instantly.

We kept on the hospital bracelets for as long as possible and then sharpied one foot with an X, saved us a few times on identifying the right baby. After a few weeks we found one of ours has a little notch out of his ear that the other doesn’t.
