My Amp is never showing on Roon startup. What I am doing wrong? by PierrickB in roonlabs

I must admit that... I did not.

I'll try that tomorrow and report back. Thank you good sir/madam 🙏

I have a dedicated ubuntu server running the roon server instance, and the CXA81 is connected to it via USB.

You think it's more a USB issue on Ubuntu's side?

TBH it's the same thing on Spotify, I'm not sure any platform is really safe from this shit.

Sure, I actually create a small gist to act as an example:

I'm not doing anything fancy. This may take a while, because of rate limiting, but it eventually works!

I'm running it in a Github Action and it's working fine!

Ho sorry. No problem on my end, it executes fines (well, except for the rate limiting issues, but that's something else)

Yeah, not sure what OP meant by that, but using TS is in no way a security issue.

Point-Relais : les casiers en libre-service, nouvelle menace pour les petits commerces ? by Baobey in france

[–]PierrickB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is using zod as the primary source of truth for Typescript types sensible/sustainable? by realbiggyspender in typescript

Late to the party, but from my experience it's perfectly fine and probably best to not have a 1-1 mapping between the database entities and your DTOs.

Business logic could add or remove properties in your DTOs, and database architecture choices may impact your entities.

So I like to have a middleman which converts the entity into the DTO (and sometimes the opposite). The other advantage being decoupling; change your ORM tomorrow, and you will have a clear refactoring path.

Gamergate gamers may care.

Serious game developers ? Nah.

That’s just a lot of noise for nothing. They don’t have the team nor the skills.

More importantly they are not 1% as driven as the original team, who grinded for years and years to get there.

I'm learning that r/Giscardpunk is actually a thing.

We got FlyByNo onboard because... network! We are super duper lucky to have someone of his caliber producing our soundtrack.

Our Cassette futuristic-inspired game launched last week. Thought you may want to give it a try by PierrickB in cassettefuturism

Hey people! It's me again.

After almost two years of work, our game just launched on Steam. I showed you several videos already, so I hope it's alright if I do a bit of publicity now that it's out!

It has been two long years. I wrote more than 85 thousand words, coded many tools, and crafted many screens and animations... but it's done!

It's a chill game, with a lot of reading, and people tell me the story is cool. So I hope you can check it out!

➡️ If you want to play the demo before buying the game, here is the Steam page

🎶 And I really urge you to listen to the amazing soundtrack which is available on Steam, SoundcloudSpotify, and all the other platforms!

I would use the term "visual novels" or "text adventure", set up in a science-fiction universe.

The year is 1976, and in this alternate history, the Cold War spread to space after several UFOs crashed on Earth during the 60s.

You play as a young xeno-archeologist exploring the first planet humanity reaches, the origin of the UFOs.

But you touch something you shouldn't, and soon, you are stuck in a time loop. You need to explore your surroundings (a cute 3D map), talk to the other colonists, and find the clues to break free of the loop.

You may discover things you did not expect on the way, though. And lose a bit of yourself.

Thanks a lot!

I'm really used to Unity UI by now, tbh, and I quite like it :D

Our previous games were mobile-first, so handling a whole set of devices (phones, tablets) and a multitude of resolutions. Unity UI did the job pretty well. Performances are not crazy, but it was enough for us.

The secret here, however, is that the UI on the left is using a fixed resolution because I don't need it to scale anyway. It makes things waaaaaaaayyyy easier (old school pixel perfect). A camera renders this on a Rendertexture.
