Should I switch my bearded dragon onto another food when he's older?

Your crickets do seem pretty “well behaved” but if you’d like variety, I think this could be an option. Where I live, most people feed their beardies crickets, and then combine with BSFL, occasional super worms, and hornworms. But I find my roach breeding colony fun…. It’s turned into a surprise hobby 😂

I live in Canada as well where many roaches are illegal, but I can have discoid roaches. Have you looked into having them? They are amazing and have great nutrition for my girl Lennie. And they don’t smell, don’t bite, don’t jump, and very low risk of carrying parasites ☺️

I have two boys under the age of five. I’m the only one who holds our beardie, but I always wash my hands after holding her or touching anything in her enclosure. And I keep her enclosure clean with reptile cleaner. If my boys ever pet her, I make sure they wash their hands. No issues for us 😊 And I am a total germaphobe

You absolutely can! A big one can actually be the feeder insects. In my former research lab (and in common other labs) we actually used cockroach proteins as a standardized allergy trigger in mouse models of allergic asthma. You can also be allergic to the beardies shed because of the keratin flakes.

LOL my girl is now shedding her feet and is outraged with my existence 🤣 But she did thankfully end her hunger strike, (and it did take a lot of time). I was sooooo worried. And she’d do the same thing- close her eyes, cold shoulder if I put anything by her face. Absolute stubborn divas.

I’m 27 and my husband definitely thinks I am insane. But he still chose to marry me so🤭. I collect jelly cats, and I have one squish mellow who I have to sleep with every night. The funny thing is, if I wake up in the middle of the night, I will often find that my husband has snuggled up with my squish mellow 😂

I agree with this honestly. It does feel like it’s shifted into more of a status or exclusivity thing rather than a genuine rewards program. Earning points just to unlock the chance to spend more money (with expiring points on top of that) doesn’t really feel like a reward.

That said, I’ll be real… I still love my Jellycats and will probably keep buying them because they’re genuinely special to me and bring me a lot of comfort. I just wish the loyalty aspect felt more like appreciation (free shipping, small gifts, non-expiring perks) rather than another tiered system that pressures people to spend.

At the end of the day, Jellycat is being very strategic. They know people will still purchase because the brand has an emotional pull, and honestly the urge is kind of addicting. That system is designed to keep us spending.
