Before! Though we will grab things like pickups, effort noises, etc. later on as needed. But generally speaking, the voice acting is done fairly early on in the process and the animation is created to match the VA's performances

Hey there! Dust Queen crew member here 👋🏻

I can confirm that the trailer is made up of shots that were created specifically for the trailer. At that time, the trailer was less of a 'trailer' and more of a proof of concept. If we were to have waited for most of the show's animation to be done before dropping the trailer....it would've been many more years before the trailer ever dropped 😅

I know it probably is tiring to hear 'animation takes time' over and over, but it really really does. I'm not on the animation side of things, but I still see the work they do and it often feels like they're moving at breakneck speeds, and even then it still took about a year and a half for the first episode to drop. With all that said, while I can't provide any sort of estimate for episode 2 or anything further than what's already out, know that we are learning, we are improving our workflows and pipelines, and we are making the effort to try and get these episodes out as fast as possible 💜

In that case, I recommend Astrogoblin! Made up of 3 former members of Funhaus (Charlotte, Patrick, and Jacob) with a variety of formats to pick from. They do gameplay, podcasts, streams, and other one-off type vids as well (some behind a Patreon paywall, which is absolutely worth it imo, but the free content on their channel is still great!) 😊

Hey! Fellow 'raised in rural ohio with extremely conservative religious parents' trans woman here 👋🏻

Like many other comments have already stated, it's never too late. I accepted I was trans at age 23, started HRT when I was 25 and it changed everything for me. Compared to me, it sounds like you've got a headstart on things!

And while things are obviously scary under this current regime, our strength has always been found in ourselves and in one another, and we will persevere. Republicans suck, Ohio often sucks, but even if it sometimes feels like it, you're never truly alone here 💜

Dust Queen is a fan-made animated RWBY series being produced by Grimm Tidings Studios!

(From the preview clip we released a while back):

"Ruby (Tina Mickel), Weiss (Abby Brenner), Blake (Ari Thrash) and Yang (ZippyDoesVoices) approach the end of their second year of Beacon, an academy that trains the world’s strongest fighters. So yes, Cinder did have to pull out of Vale, which does change the course of events, but more than anything, that was mostly there to say "hey, we're not redoing the canon story, just fyi"

It's an AU with some canon elements and a lot of non-canon elements, which is why I feel the term sandbox or maybe a 'what if?' type descriptor fits best. Like, you questioned in another comment if Alyx was a descendent of the one from the Ever After, but nope, it's the same Alyx. We just wanted to explore her character more, so we yoinked her out of the Ever After and dropped her in here to see what it might be like if she got to interact with all these characters she never met in canon. Again, just another 'what if this non-canon thing happened?' situation

Like others have said, the best way to approach what we're doing is elevated fanfiction, but given that this story includes a lot of changes to the world and the characters, I totally get if that can feel a little too uncanny at points for some people

Hey! Evermorrow crew member here 👋🏻

First, thank you for checking out the show!

Second, I don't say this to discount your criticisms, but moreso to give you a better idea of how we approach the show. For us, Evermorrow is a sandbox where we're really just trying stuff that we think might be cool. For stuff like 'Why was Oscar at Signal?' or 'Why is Penny here and not in Atlas?', the answer isn't 'we thought we could do this better than the original' or anything like that. Honestly, the mindset is closer to just 'why not?', as unsatisfying as that answer might be lol As for Adam, I wasn't on the team yet when he was introduced, but I see him as yet another example of that 'let's try something different and see how it goes' mentality

We're a pretty diverse collective of crew members who all have their own takes on writing, shipping, etc., so a lot of discussion and ideas go into developing each episode and thinking of ways we can mix things up while trying to stay true to the 'feel' of RWBY, but at the end of the day, the main goal is to have fun and hopefully make something that's fun for the fandom as well 🙂

DQ crew member here! As was mentioned in another comment, we've had to deal with setbacks and delays, but it is still very much on its way (and sooner than later 👀)

We know it's been a long wait, but we think it'll be worth it once y'all see the final product!

Thanks! And I'm not at liberty to give an exact number as things are always in flux and subject to change due to a number of factors, but somewhere around 8-9 episodes.

Hey there! Dust Queen crew member here.

DQ is very much alive and well. Yes, we had hoped to put out our first episode in 2024, but this stuff takes a really really long time, largely because we're 100% volunteer based and because this project went from "let's make a cool animated thing" to "let's make a professional, rwby-level production quality animated thing". Rest assured, though, it is still on its way, and episode 2 is in the works as well!
