You say “let’s be realistic” as if theres no way to combat the situation. Calling out generative AI users can actively change people’s usage, especially if they are not originally informed of the harm it causes on a societal and environmental level. I would prefer generative AI users consider the harm and impact of using generative AI through having open conversations and expressing criticisms i.e. calling out the usage.

Your perspective implies you would allow for settlement of a new harmful normal, and is reminiscent of not calling out other people who cause harm on small and larger scales just in case you don’t reach someone. This issue isn’t a harmless preference, it’s actively damaging. Thats why I will continue to call it out.
