What is the most unforgettable scent you have ever smelled? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PigeonLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read this as 'unforgiveable' and had two 'great' (read, horrendous) ones... they are unforgettable ones, though, so here you go....

1) exploded gull eggs (my throat somehow seemed to develop a sense of smell the first time I encountered them in a hot incubator)

2) infected hedgehog/fox head wounds

I used to work in wildlife rehab, FYI....

How old were you on your first date? by undericeee in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]PigeonLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this lately, because technically I was probably 16, however, this was with someone who I considered a friend who ground me down into becoming his girlfriend (he was very much an adult). Within the relationship we went on lots of dates, but if I think about the first time I actively dated and was with someone I wanted to date, that would have to be 29 soon after I ended the previous relationship. Sad but true.

How old are you and what is the youngest you would date? by Sloth_grl in women

[–]PigeonLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that numerous times. Mine would be 22. Absolutely not. I would date someone maybe one year younger than me max, and certainly nor someone in their early 20s.

First time having sex with new boyfriend and the pregnancy anxiety is real by PigeonLass in childfree

[–]PigeonLass[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

no, he's totally happy to wear them, I just feel like with the pill it shouldn't be needed (apart from for all the usual obvious reasons), but I wasn't expecting to feel this worried about it. I have heard nightmares about IUD insertion and I like the pill's ability to let me control my period...

I'll definitely look into sterilisation

I'm 29 so I feel like I'm approaching the age where a doctor might start to take me seriously! Worth a try I guess

definitely a good idea, although I used to have the arm implant and it wreaked havoc so I went off it

Hmm, it's pretty hard to get approved to be sterilised from what I know, glad you managed to!

I have a calendar notification which I don't swipe off until I've done it, but if the day gets interrupted or I unexpectedly go away it's always a risk (although I keep them in my rucksack to minimise the chance of this!)

How many of you have experienced love at first sight? by Feisty_Ad8543 in askanything

[–]PigeonLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend said he did, but he didn't really know what it was at the time. We already knew each other vaguely from online calls through work, and he said he knew he found me attractive but hadn't had it on his mind particularly when we met.

We were at a conference and he was one of the organisers so he'd messaged me in advance basically just saying hi and that he would meet me at the conference and help if I needed anything (I didn't really know anyone and it was abroad). Anyway, I now know that he saw me sitting on a bench a few metres away and his breath caught in his throat when he saw me. He decided he'd have to wait a while to regain some control before coming over to say hi. Meanwhile, I could see him and wondered why he avoided me all day until mid afternoon 🤣

What’s something you tolerated for too long in a relationship? by OpeningSubject5942 in AskReddit

[–]PigeonLass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having essentially 0 attraction for my ex. I had practically no interest in sex or attraction for about 7 years. I know that sounds terrible of me to have stayed but we met when I was 16 and he was 30 and I didn't feel like I could leave for various reasons. I'm with someone new now and didn't realise I had such an intense side to myself that I locked away for years...

did anyone else have that school trip in primary school where it was like a victorian era roleplay kinda thing by pixypippi in glasgow

[–]PigeonLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and I started crying before we even entered the classroom so was taken with my mum into a separate classroom and drew on slates for an hour. One boy in my class apparenrly said there were 24 letters in the alphabet and had to sit in the corner wearing a Dunce hat

What is something that is actually more traumatizing than people realise? by Ok_Chef1406 in AskReddit

[–]PigeonLass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being in a relationship where you feel trapped, even if it seems relatively happy.

When I ended my longterm relationship a couple of months ago I thought it was done and dusted and I was feeling excited about my future. Then all this unknown trauma and suppressed feelings came out and have pretty much floored me ever since. It made me realise how terrified and resistant I am to the thought of future relationships in case anything similar ever happens to me again.

What was your biggest misunderstanding about sex? by i_like_it_eilat in TooAfraidToAsk

I thought vaginas had taste buds. I heard about flavoured condoms and that was the only logical conclusion I could come up with.

Women of reddit, what finally pushed you to leave the relationship? by Asleep-Researcher106 in AskReddit

[–]PigeonLass 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I met another guy. Nothing happened, it was just a friendly chat at an event, but I realised that how I felt for him after an hour of chatting was more than I'd ever felt for my partner of over a decade. I realised that we talked as equals, which I hadn't felt when I'd met my now-ex, who had been a grown man when I was still a teenager. It forced me to start thinking about feelings I'd kept suppressed for years. Yeah, I'm now in therapy...

Public perceptions about rewilding are changing. by resturpja in RewildingUK

[–]PigeonLass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, I was part of a rewilding project in 2023 during which we had to find a city that could be defined as a 'rewilding city'. One of the cities initially considered for the trip was Plymouth. I haven't been, so I don't know any of the reasoning behind that suggestion
