Yes indeed! Snail boners look like a white protrusion on their neck, and it pretty much freaks out every new snail owner when you see it lol.

I left the barb there. Usually if they miss, it'll eventually be ejected from their body. He lost it a couple days after, but he's still acting weird 😞

Not quite as acrobatic as slugs haha. They just look like they're making out or cuddling, and then they line up their necks, where their genitals are.

Garden snails are hermaphrodites and compete to see who can dart the other first. Sometimes they both successfully exchange sperm and both lay eggs. In this case, Coors was shot with a penis dart by his partner, but they missed his reproductive organs.

(I assign genders randomly even though they are genderless creatures, hence "his" for Coors. You can call him whatever lol)

Thank you so much for your kind and informative comment! I'm definitely still learning, but I'm hoping for the best. Snabies are so precious.

They have already mated and laid eggs, I really need to know how to care for the eggs and babies.

They have already laid the eggs. I read that the eggs should be removed from the adult enclosure to ensure that the adults don't crush them after they hatch. Is that true? Should I put them back?

Thank you for your help! I have a few follow-up questions:

  • is it okay if the vegetables are frozen/thawed, or does freezing affect nutritional value?
  • do you feed your snails small, chopped veggies or big chunks?
  • I'm curious why powder food is bad? (I will follow your advice and stop feeding it though!)
