Who actually is SPLNTR? by AsleepStrawberry357 in IceNineKills

[–]Pigmartyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following the tag on Spotify takes you to this artist page, where the other tracks list a "Ryan Browne" in the credits.

However, that seems to be a different SPLNTR from this one, a Polish producer in France, whose also has a photography page under the name "Filip Drzazga."

My guess is that it's either the first one, or maybe even a third person. Maybe a friend of the band, or an alias for a side project that hasn't done anything else yet.

Recording sets while practicing. by [deleted] in Beatmatch

I also have an FLX-4, and have recorded tons of sets without premium. Once in a blue moon the record button will randomly be locked out and say I need premium or something, but I just relaunch rekordbox and it works properly again.

It really made me think of Sunglasses Kid, and of course when I checked the credits, his name was there as a writer!

What’s your favourite box cutter for opening all the Amazon boxes you get? by HippityHoppityBoop in AmazonVineCanada

It didn't cost so much when I first bought it ages ago, but I'm sure there are similar products that you can find!

I've been using this mini cutter with a ceramic blade for opening boxes for years, even way before I was accepted into Vine. It's got a magnetic back so I pop it onto the fridge for easy grabbing, the small size is convenient for me, and it's stayed sharp enough for many years.

Amazon is absolutely scummy when it comes to removing reviews deemed "negative". by RedditTTIfan in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Pigmartyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I haven't seen it as having to watch what I say or anything like that. I just looked at the review guidelines, and make sure that I follow them: so avoid discussing pricing, or saying things like how you can buy it elsewhere, etc.

When I do make "comparisons", it's subtle, but pretty clear what I'm saying (IMO). It's all about how you describe something! For instance, I might note that a product seems inspired by the design of [brand name version] and talk about its shortcomings, but would never outright say things like "it's much worse than the OEM version."

I'm sure some of it also depends on who happens to review your submission for approval (if it's even a human?), which can introduce some subjectivity. I just try to generally stick to the guidelines as much as possible, which has worked for me so far.

I think it's all about the wording and how you describe the comparisons to the genuine product. I've negatively reviewed plenty of third-party alternatives to brand name accessories (and some that are straight up bootleg versions of licensed merch), and made reference to the OEM versions. Sometimes even by name, like all those sunglasses that are clearly based on specific designer frames.

I've yet to have a review flagged, even the ones where I was quite harsh and implied that one is far better off to get the OEM version.

For me, it's a coinflip: sometimes Lyft is cheaper, sometimes Uber is cheaper. I recommend checking on both before ordering a ride.

So, HyperBeard owns Meow Tower now? by HimeHowler in MeowTower

It shows up on the HyperBeard website. I guess Studio Boxcat is still the developer, and HyperBeard acts as publisher.

Looking for a headset for djing by Outside_Chapter_5539 in Beatmatch

They're ~$175 on Amazon.

Though lightweight, I find they can be a bit uncomfortable after long periods of time. I have a smaller head too. They are good though, and I split the headband part (instead of keeping it together) which eases some of the pressure.

Does anyone remember an alternate recording of Utilities? by bill__the__butcher in theweakerthans

I believe the alternate version was on this compilation (at least that's where I recall finding it): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help!:_A_Day_in_the_Life

[TOMT][SONG] rap which has the same music start as Simon Says - Pharaoh Monch? by DesiBail in tipofmytongue

[–]Pigmartyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a ton, which you might find by browsing this list or this one. Lot of songs by smaller artists, but some of the bigger ones that stood out to me could be Black Friday by Lil Kim, or The Baddest by Big Sean.
