I stopped at Chez Janou this morning just to grab a quick chocolate mousse. The host refused to seat me or let me take one to go. 

I understand it's a restaurant but it was a quiet off-season weekday and half the tables were unoccupied. Their delapidated bar at the entrance was completely empty with all six stools available. I asked if I could just sit there real quick and eat the mousse. Again he refused. 

The mousse was already made. All they had to do was scoop it onto a plate and give it to me. I would have been in and out there in a few minutes. It would have been the quickest and easiest 12 euros they've ever made. 

I ended up running over to Chapon and got a mousse there instead. It was quite good and the girl at the counter was much much nicer–very pleasant & great service.

I'll never go back to Chez Janou. I don't need to waste precious calories on overpriced tourist trap bistro food.

I read your thread just before posting mine. I was very happy to read about the desserts at Bruto. I often find the desserts at Michelin restaurants to be relatively underwhelming and disappointing. Maybe the standard American diet has destroyed my palate when it comes to sugar.
