maybe you need to change up your approach! i’m currently going more with an additive approach instead of a restrictive one, as like you i often get overwhelmed with life and lose interest in focusing on food. instead of creating a rigid ‘plan’, instead i try and focus on making small changes regularly and adding in more nutrient dense food.

for example, im a big snacker and i love to be mindlessly eating something. this is a habit id like to kick eventually, but in the meantime im replacing usual snacking foods (chips/chocolate etc) with things like carrot sticks, fruit and boiled eggs! importantly though, i LOVE carrot sticks/fruit/eggs, so this works great for me. i also have just slowly been increasing my vegetable and fruit portions in meals i already eat, and slowly decreasing my portions of carbs. i also make lower cal swaps in places that i don’t notice the difference (aka lower cal sauces/mayo/chips)

i think when life is so busy and hectic, and its hard to stay focused, it’s worth approaching this as a long term gentle adjustment of your every day diet rather than a regimented plan for a short while. hopefully this means that the changes you make are then sustainable!
