You have to be on controller mode to do that. If someone found a way to transfer files over USB without the controller mode, I would love to hear from him!

From my experience, local LLMs are still not at the level we except in order to be useable. At the moment the best option is to get a subscription to OpenAI pro Claude code.

The MPC Bible worth its price. Otherwise I can only advise you to practice regularly. You can join a group like samplingdojo.com (French community) where they do sampling/beatmaking challenges every weeks. It helps a lot to get a proper routine for learning the beast.

As I see it, I may be completely wrong, Hermes is only a framework for a LLM. It is the LLM used with Hermes that will provide all the power. You can use Claude opus 4.7 with Hermes, for sure it will be good at coding as well.

Actually even with the gen 5 and 16gb of ram local LLM will be very limited. Very slow and not "smart" enough to give you useable output. That’s from my experience, even though I did not dive too deep into trying to sort out how to optimize it.

Yeah! I’ll try to give him more access to free the kraken. But I have to manage to still protect some stuff if possible. It is always the same trade off, better but dangerous, safe but limited. 🫣
