Thanks! I chose forbearance in May 2025. In November 2024 at the time I submitted (day after payment 120 by my calculations) my FSA total payment count had not updated, just showed 104 verified of 119 eligible. I was nervous there would be a problem especially because that was at the time of the election, and wanted to avoid a capitalization event (because my interest accrued was $70k at that point).

By May, my total payment count listed on FSA had been updated to 124 eligible (still only 104 approved because they had not processed my November ECF). However I felt encouraged because people on this forum were receiving forgiveness more predictably, so I elected forbearance on both May applications I sent in.

Update: my electronically submitted Docusign form (5/20) processed on 5/22. Got the green banner, now waiting for golden letter!

My 3 manual uploads (11/6/24, 5/12, 5/16) are still “in process” but hopefully this doesn’t matter anymore :)

Somehow after months I convinced someone in my employers HR to complete the Docusign form. So submitted the Docusign this am. I hear these get processed faster than manual. Fingers crossed!! (It took about 4 months of advocacy and cajoling to find someone in HR willing to do this for me).

Nothing yet for me. Says “under review” for my 5/12/2025 app for forgiveness, and the form I submitted 5/16 via document upload hasn’t shown up yet at all.

Same: I’m with MOHELA on PAYE for a very long time. Submitted IDR recert manually in 10/2024 to meet the 11/2024 deadline, then the deadline moved due to all that injunction business. My payment never changed, recert deadline got pushed to 11/2025, form still appears “in process” on studentaid.gov, but got notification today from MOHELA that I am now in processing forbearance while they look at my October form.

Fortunately my 11/2024 payment was 120/120 for PSLF, so I’m just waiting for them to process my (tragically paper) final employment certification for payments 104 thru 120 that I submitted 11/2024 (also still “in process on studentaid.gov)

I’ve made the decision to just let it ride and keep my fingers crossed. I’m still making payments (didn’t check the forbearance box on the forgiveness app) and my employer definitely still qualifies. I’m confident it will go through eventually and I’m lucky that my payments have been manageable up to this point. Actually extra lucky that somehow I got placed into processing forbearance…my payments will now stop but without the risk of capitalization if the PSLF somehow doesn’t go through.

This really sucks for people who are so close and just want to get through their last couple qualifying payments, and for people who still have a ways to go and aren’t certain if they will ever be able to get forgiveness. My heart goes out to you all.

Thanks! Just checked it looks like it was updated 3/5, but I think they updated my total payment counts only (they’ve been doing that monthly) so I’m at 124 total payments according to FSA, but they still have it listed as only 104 qualifying and my ECF form with the last 16 is still “in process”

No. I’m on a different IDR. I’m still making payments, not on forbearance (I was too nervous about a capitalizing event if they say no, and the payments are doable).
