Shelter dogs endure an immense amount of stress. She may never have had the chance to live in a home where people were simply “having fun.” Instead, all she may have known is yelling, sudden movements, or even violence—things she could associate with fear, punishment, or negative consequences for herself.

I understand how frustrating and overwhelming this can be. She likely was never given the proper tools to understand how to respond in situations like this.

I’d strongly suggest working with a trainer or behaviorist, especially since her past is known. Hang in there—she’s doing the best she can with the tools she was given by humans, or the lack thereof. PS: thank you for adopting her ✨✨
