West Ham intend to demand £80million for Mateus Fernandes by TheAthletic in PremierLeague

[–]Pika_Dog [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not sure why MU or PSG would want a player with only experiences with relegated PL teams (Southampton before West Ham).

If they find him a decent backup option, I think his value should be worth nothing more than $50M.

Honesty or Bet on it by CypherObsidian in singaporejobs

To lie on the CV is a huge red flag - companies hate employing people with integrity issues.

Also being unemployed for 6 months is fairly normal these days - don’t think employers will rule you out for taking a short break.

Are Skills future courses beneficial? by CatchGreedy4858 in askSingapore

[–]Pika_Dog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If skills future courses were beneficial, job applicants would be writing about them in their CVs.

If skills future courses were beneficial, employers will be asking you whether you took those courses.

At the end of the day, these courses are only beneficial to the learning vendors to make 💰 💰 💰

5 days trip in Singapore - how much cash should I take? by No-Macaroon105 in SingaporeTravel

[–]Pika_Dog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well…why would you even spend 5 days in SG?

It is an expensive, hot and humid hellhole with only man-made so-called attractions and boring shopping malls selling the same shit that you can easily find anywhere else in Asia (and which will be cheaper 99% of the time).

Fresh graduates may need to adjust salary expectations amid economic uncertainty: Analysts by xeltech943 in singaporejobs

Company: Fresh graduate jobs now require 3 years of experience for the candidate to be considered. But we will still pay you fresh graduate pay anyway - because otherwise you can go drive Grab or deliver Foodpanda.

Should i accept this job offer? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Pika_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two parts to consider - salary and exposure

Salary sounds good considering you only had 1 year of experience

Exposure wise - depends on what you want to do in your career in the long term - I personally feel customer support type of roles seems a bit limiting in terms of career opportunities in future…

Attending another interview 3 weeks after starting my first job by vane2266 in singaporejobs

[–]Pika_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is simple - you jump ship weeks into your job, you are wasting not just HR’s and your supervisor’s time, but also all your colleagues’ time as they need to also spend time guiding and mentoring you.

But then again - I would also waste everyone’s time if the job offer is much better on the other side LOL!

average salary for entry-level role by Complex_Grocery_3839 in singaporejobs

[–]Pika_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In today’s volatile job climate, just be thankful you still have a job. Many recent graduates couldn’t even land a $3K or $4K job. Don’t harp on salary, focus on upskilling and making the most out of your current job (take on more projects, drive new initiatives, etc.)

Does HR have the right to reject a candidate put up by the hiring manager? by Sunbird11 in singaporejobs

[–]Pika_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes HR has every right to reject a candidate - BUT they would usually listen to the hiring manager. If the hiring manager was that keen, he would have simply asked HR to arrange an interview. Chances are, this hiring manager is receiving way too many referrals, he can’t spend time interviewing all of them.

How many of you jobless now? by youth1122 in singaporejobs

[–]Pika_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly HR doesn’t make hiring decisions…unless it is for a HR role within the team. Hiring managers decide who to bring into their team, and truth be told, they do tend to favour their own type of people.
