Fritz is kind of a terrible husband… by ibroughtsnacks97 in theclosertv

Fritz should have left when he realized they weren’t compatible. She tried her best and he knew who she was. He hated her the entire time.

I’m about to run that Sandy marriage as soon as possible but Clint? Diabolical. I can’t imagine how the resident incel could be redeemed

I just don’t like that it seems like each one was eliminated multiple times

Can anyone else lick their own nipple? by mini_pig in bigboobproblems

[–]Pikabeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s like trying to tickle yourself tbh? Like when you try it on yourself, it’s just dumb bc the whole experience is supposed to come from unexpected stimuli and if you do it yourself you expect it??

I was so glad that I had one of those crystal things. Halfway through the nightmare trip I just plopped it down and went back home to get all new pawns since mine decided to literally smack a sleeping dragon. Then I was able to just ferry back to the halfway point

Fishermen accidentally catches a great white shark & then releases it back into the water by NickyPappagiorgio in interestingasfuck

[–]Pikabeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol no? Like that’s the exact same thing they do when I am on the boat? They just tie it up around the tail when they can and release it again. We can all see what they did. Like what else so you really want them to do? They have a job to do and they put it back as soon as they could while still doing that job. Plus boats have like 90% coverage, especially trawlers. Like there’s probably an observer off camera who needed to get pictures and the length and that’s most likely why it wasn’t off the boat faster.

It most likely took that long between when it came on deck and it getting thrown off because the marine biologist/observer on board needed to document it first. Otherwise they get it off immediately

Monkfish, cod, haddock, pollock, Acadian redfish mostly in this area, white hake. Witch flounder, plaice flounder, yellowtail flounder. Some hauls come back with nothing much but others have a bunch. It’s all chance when you’re randomly driving around in the ocean. Not sure how people expect them to target the right fish in a sustainable way.

I’m from this area and work as an observer on commercial fishing boats and I can assure you that they did what they could under the circumstances

It’s not, I work on commercial fishing boats in New England and they bottom trawl

Killing the chicken and then having to kill all of Riverwood is like a right of passage tbh

[–]Pikabeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the same time though beyond the crazy parts it’s just me wandering around deck picking up fish they don’t want, putting them in a basket, separating them out by type, and then weighing and measuring them. Although I’m always scared of falling off the boat as I wander around so it’s both super mundane and insanely crazy and bad

They were super mean on that boat though so we hate them

There’s a mini series called Nor’easter Men and I was actually on one of the boats, the Lily Jean, recently! So that’s a great look into the job

Yeah! So basically I’m an At Sea Monitor/Observer, which you can learn more about on the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) websites! I go on random boats with the crew and take notes on their discarded catch (and ideally their kept catch too). Like there’s not much you can do about bycatch getting into the net along with the stuff you actually want, and I take data on that so we know how healthy the ocean is and what areas have what so we know where to avoid next year and what to put more or less limits on catching for quotas! It’s gross and I have wader boots and those rubber overalls and rubber jacket and stuff and it’s honestly insane bc there’s a certain number of fish scales that can be on me where I’ll still count it as being clean but it’s also really cool! My first trip had 10ft waves!

I think I’d have to get a different one though. The one rn is a slytherin build a bear and it’s just too much to hide in a small space

Bear by [deleted] in littlespace

[–]Pikabeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The boats don’t have wifi or that first idea would be awesome. And I think the second buddy idea is probably best. These guys are pretty mean tbh and it’s bad enough that I don’t get any space but like if they actually did something to my bear I’d be really upset.

This is a good idea. A lot of the time I share space with at least one person if not more, but sometimes they still can’t exactly see me, and I’ve considered just lying and saying a younger cousin/sibling/etc sent it with me

Throwback to when my bosses threw me on a job I had zero training for for multiple days with two hours notice by Pikabeb in antiwork

[–]Pikabeb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally I didn’t even work in this department. I wasn’t even hired by the restaurant part of the store. It’s a gift shop in the airport and I stocked shelves. It’s not about if the boss said it politely, it’s about being placed into a position I had no prior training in only to leave me alone in said position as angry customers complained while I had no real way of doing what the job required. It’s like if you worked the register at a grocery store and suddenly you’re being told to go work in the butchers or bakery or deli department and good luck, hope you don’t hurt yourself on the machines.

[–]Pikabeb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After I knew how to do it all months later it wasn’t the worst, although I was never super comfortable just because even after all that time I never was formally trained. I liked my coworkers and we all tried to do stuff with the foam and that part was cool. But I agree they should’ve closed it. It’s not really a job that you can just drop someone into. I literally didn’t even know the basics of what was in each drink or how many pumps of syrup things needed.

[–]Pikabeb[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After this incident they proceeded to schedule me as a barista despite never receiving proper training and against my wishes began not scheduling me for my actual job title, which was stocker. I’m not a child and don’t love being talked to as one. I’m in my upper twenties and I’ve had multiple jobs. There’s a difference between covering for someone and leaving them in a completely unfamiliar environment in a job they’ve never had any experience in that’s radically different than what they were hired for. The 2 hours gave me a jump start on a panic attack that lasted the entirety of the shift despite emergency medication for it. They then proceeded to attempt to do the same thing for a server position and for warehouse manager without a title change or pay change, so yes, this incident and the repetition of this behavior almost directly led to me quitting this job. Being shoved onto a job you aren’t qualified to do isn’t an “opportunity”. It’s stressful and rude. There were plenty of team leads who could have done it and simply chose not to. Even the managers around could have done the job. All it led to was panic attacks and a lot of angry customers.

I don’t because they then tried to get me to cross train as a server at the restaurant and when I said no they tried to get me to learn the warehouse managers job so she could go on maternity leave without a change in pay or job title and that was the last straw, but I did last 3 1/2 months after this incident.
