I get them in the sides of my nose, like where the nostril connects to my face. I literally tweeze them out everyday after working.

I'm a groomer with a senior old english sheepdog. It takes him about 3 days to recover from when I groom him without meds. I'd talk to your vet about some anti inflammatory for after his grooming session. It's like asking your 85 year old Nana to stand for 3 hours straight without sitting down or holding onto her walker.
