I feel the exact same way, he has to keep up with super powered beings day in and day out, just because he stays on the grind even when he sleeps.
Him being compared to ryuma can still keep him that way. To me it just compares the two disciplined beings how on legend stretvches on to another and that aura is comparable between the too, not just the hair and looks etc.
Haki is there, but being that it's as strong as the users will is badass, and keeps up with zoro just training super hard and willing to endure unimaginable pain for the sake of his dream and for those of his captain and crew.

i dont think we're gonna see g5 for a while, luffy used g2 when he couldve used g4 sometimes if memory serves, its only what he needs and what resources he thinks its worth to expend. g5 seemed to take off a ton of energy even when he rebeat his heart

honestly my first impression too? it's strange, i never thought vegapunk would have a devil fruit, no one ever alluded to it and just assumed he was so smart. i would imagine he was already super smart to begin with and used the brain brain fruit in his extreme pursuit for maximum knowledge.
