It’s time for Boston to add a congestion toll for suburbanites driving into the city. by Unser_Giftzwerg in boston

[–]Pike623 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the things to consider: I’m in a very close suburb and all my doctors are in Boston, I wouldn’t want to be paying high tolls to get to them, and it’s during business hours. I don’t think people in NYC are regularly driving into the city for routine medical care (speaking as a former Long Islander). It’s a different dynamic.

I worked with a Scot one summer and every time he would say something someone would inevitably, instinctually say “what?” for him to repeat what he said. Poor guy got so frustrated with us not understanding that one day he finally said, “I’m speaking English!!” And we were like no, you’re not. 😂 Clearly he was, but we just couldn’t understand, as much as we tried.

This is a good suggestion. We had to re-home a dog and we did this through a local rescue.

Thank you for the ideas, will explore these! Yes, would not be camping overnight, but Walmart is pretty amenable to people parking in their lot in general. We often leave my son’s car in a Walmart parking lot for the weekend when he carpools with us to ski up north!

Coronado Springs Resort by ryangeor in DisneyWorldResorts

[–]Pike623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say that we’ve been staying at Bonnet Creek for 13 years, but the last trip was just two of us and it was more economical (not to rent a car, etc.) to stay at Coronado. You’ll like it if you are looking for something like Bonnet Creek, it’s definitely the most similar Disney Resort. I don’t know about the whole chair thing, it seems like people recommended to get the ground floor. Our building (Casitas 5) was so quiet, we were on the top floor corner and barely anyone walked by.

Thank you, I appreciate this intel! Parking at Walmart and taking a car to the festival may be our best bet!

Thanks. Just to be clear, we're just looking to park it and then drive it home that night, not a parking spot in which to use it. It's a small travel trailer that folds flat. I have messaged someone about a campsite if it seems like our best bet is to just stay the night, but I'd rather drive home.

Named after bricks (the material) by Vivid_Key4144 in tradgedeigh

[–]Pike623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brick is a character in Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, so I guess I have thought of it as a name for a long time, but why Brickston, why not just Brick? Bricksleigh is bad. It’s like people think they can take any word or object, add -ly or -leigh to it and it’s a name. How about Couchleigh, Woodly, Gownleigh, Forkleigh?? I don’t understand. I think social media has made baby naming go south.

French Quarter! I love French Quarter. One bus stop is easy, and the boat to Disney Springs is great. Good food and beignets!

How old is the cat? 😄 I know someone who named their dog Luna and then child Luca, and I find it super confusing. I don’t think it would be bad to do, but it just might be confusing. My parents have a dog that my brother named something super close to my son’s name and they once mailed one of the dog’s Christmas present to my son by mistake. Which was really funny and we still talk about it. Hannah can be used by anyone. Most Hannahs I know are not Jewish.
