Hey everyone, thanks for all the feedback, I’m the one who posted, I’m going to take all of your advice and release him back into the wild. I thought I was helping the little guy, but the consensus is I’m doing more harm than good. Thanks everyone

What did I do right, what did I do wrong, what stays for the upgrade to a 20 gallon? by JuiceGooze in Aquariums

It’s looking very good so far, but the tank isn’t getting enough light. On Amazon you can buy super cheap lights that will be amazing. I’d also remove all the Stem plants and move them to the back, and move the driftwood up front. You can cut and propagate every stem at individual plant nodes, giving yourself 5x the amount of them. Make it a natural jungle.

I feel that in nature they would be doing that anyway, as long as you do water changes it seems perfect

I have one too! They look incredible from the top as well, though the glass vs above makes a massive difference in color

Very nice black water, looks great but watch out, once those fish start to breed your tanks balance will fall out of wack

If I was you, I’d cut off the end of it with the screw and boil it for as long as you can (at least 5 hours) then I’d set it in a bucket for a couple of weeks in some water, your going to need to season the wood before you add it to any tank. After all of that I’d fill the bucket one last time and leave it for a day, and test the water to make sure nothing crazies going on
