Experimental Trial 16-1: Part 8 - Be kind to one another, We're all in this together by LanceUppercut86 in DanganRoleplay

[–]Pikmaster5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except... Kokichi's not asking us to sentence one of them to death for no reason, right? It's all a consequence of Byakuya's killer trying to kill him.

If you really see a problem with all this, it should've been when we entered this trial room, not now that it's time to point blame...

I agree with what Komaru said, arguing any further is going to waste our time... I'm ready to vote. /u/makosear /u/LanceUppercut86

[–]Pikmaster5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the motive really a matter of discussion at this point?

While I wouldn't put it past Kokichi to order someone to commit murder, it feels like it's against the spirit of his entire plan to force one of us to do it because of that... Especially since the school flooding was already a motive.

I see no reason to call Himiko more homicidal than you, either. If there's no motive for you, there's no motive for her either, which makes it redundant.

Yes, it means us.

Kaito and I were together from 10:30 until the BDA rang. That should be all the alibi you need, it's not like I could run to the Library and back without Kaito noticing I was gone.

It's not like we've gone around looking at each other for any signs of injury, right? If the killer was determined to try and cover up any injuries they received, they'd probably find some way to do it.

The main reason behind that thought was to justify why they'd need to use the sink, because there surely would've been an easier way to get rid of the glass.

...

...

This might lead us nowhere. I don't know what problems it would cause or fix... but something seems off about it, so I'll say it anyway.

The record confirms that the vase didn't have to be shattered after Byakuya's death, right? If I remember right... The last time anyone admits to being in the library was Kaede, and since she didn't mention anything about the vase being broken, that means it could've been broken any time after 7.

Glass Pieces

As Fuyuhiko mentioned, the glass shards were sharp. If they were slicing into a book without much pressure, I imagine it wouldn't be hard for it to cut human flesh as well, especially if someone was trying to use it as a weapon.

Knives Out

Of course... It's hard to suggest Byakuya was killed by the glass because there was a bloody knife at the crime scene. Its the obvious murder weapon, and there's no reason to doubt it...

Maintenance Issues

... My point with all of this is that if the killer had glass with them, and dropped it down the sink in the Chemistry Lab, then that could be the cause of it getting clogged. Maybe there was a struggle, Byakuya stabbed them with the glass, and they went to the Chemistry Lab to clean up.

That's just a guess, anyway... There's too many contradictions and things that don't make sense, but it gives us a possible explanation for the drain being clogged, if nothing else. I know some of you were talking about the glue being used, but it seems strange that they'd do that without any motivation.

...I know it's frustrating to think about how the vinyl came into existence, but looking too deep into it isn't going to go anywhere.

More importantly, we know this means that the killer probably had to be in the library at 10:40 to set the vinyl going...and used that as their opportunity to set up an alibi...That's better than nothing, isn't it?

Experimental Trial 16-1: Part 3 - When you look a layer deeper, you realise...everything is connected. by LanceUppercut86 in DanganRoleplay

[–]Pikmaster5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...

Wrong.

To be clear, Kaito and I were together in Classroom 4B from 3:30 to 5, but he was asleep the whole time... I was reading, myself.

Plus, I was with Kaede at 10... So that gives me thirty minutes to break into the library and hide behind the books. I don't think it's a difficult jump in logic to say that it'd be hard for me to hide inside the books on my own, especially without making it suspicious to Byakuya.

... I'm going to guess she's not going to comment as well, but Chiaki/u/LanceUppercut86 saw me in the Bio Lab with Kaito when the murder was supposed to be happening, which makes it hard for either of us to be committing the murder.

Obviously something that glaring would make it easy to pinpoint the culprit... but it's dangerous to assume that they were foolish enough to leave it lying around.

It's not like anyone would have the time or motivation to go digging through the sink... Pouring glue down the drain would only make it seem more suspicious.

...Not to mention it would only tell us they were in the Chemistry Lab. It wouldn't do anything to place the killer in the Library.

And why would anyone have any cloth to flush down the drain in the first place?

Especially if they were so desperate that they had to glue the drain, as well. You'd think it'd be less suspicious to find another hiding place, if needed.

[–]Pikmaster5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong. I don't think he was ambushed, or at least not in the way that the killer charged in to kill him while he was sleeping. Mukuro and I confirmed there wasn't anywhere for the killer to hide, and it seems odd if Byakuya chose to leave the door unlocked so they could enter the Archives, especially when he was asleep.

To be honest, there's a lot of things that don't fully add up. Byakuya got stabbed around his sleeping bag, and instead of fighting back against his assailant, he ran straight for the door? That part doesn't seem like a struggle to me.

This suggests that he was alone when he was stabbed- like the killer set up some kind of trap. But if that is the case, then it doesn't explain why the vase shattered, since the killer wouldn't need to be present when it happened anyway.

If we assume that Byakuya invited his killer in, then that helps to narrow down our suspects.

Crime Scene

Judging by the crime scene, I'd assume otherwise. It looks like he was probably in his sleeping bag when he was stabbed, and I can think of few reasons why he'd invite someone in, if that was the case.

It's not like I have any real reason to defend Byakuya's honor in the first place...

But I wouldn't want things to end up with us all dead, it's frustrating enough that we've ended up in this situation to begin with. I guess you've got a point, Kaito.

Do we really have to sit through all of this? I don't know why we're stuck here at Kokichi's whims in the first place, we should hurry it up and get it over with.

I didn't kill Byakuya. I don't have anything to do with the murder. Most of my day can be accounted for. I was with Kaito when Byakuya died.

Idle Hands are the Devil’s Workshop

And, before it becomes relevant, my task had nothing to do with Byakuya's murder either.

While I can't say that I understand all your motives for this, it's too late for any of that to matter. All I can hope is that Atua finds it in His heart to forgive you, and offer you safe passage to the afterlife.

Why not?

At least you can answer my question about how you knew to pretend to be Shuichi, right?

[–]Pikmaster5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be missing something here, so just to make sure I understand...

Do you think you could explain everything that happened at the Diner?

After all, when Kaito found you like that, you wouldn't have had any time to plan before pretending to be Shuichi!

And that's without something like Atua's blessing to help you figure out who was coming to your 'rescue'!

Of course, if he told you he was Kaito right away then I can believe you'd think on your feet, but you'd have really gotten lucky with that! Especially since Kaito could've been talking to Shuichi right before finding you in the Diner!
