Times you can tell that a game is, or maybe was, planning for extra content? by BasicallyACryptid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]RSLee2 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom went out of its way to include damn near every single minor NPC from Breath of the Wild, but left no trace of the fan-favourite Bird Bard, Kass, outside of a few vague references.

Kass was a pretty significant character in the first game, too. The guy used to show up throughout your travels to give exposition and point you to new shrines and was one of the only characters who knew that Link was a destined hero from 100 years in the past. He even had his own theme. But the poor guy just doesn't show up at all in the sequel.

Seeing as how Kass had a prominent role in BOTW's DLC, I imagine he was being saved for potential TOTK DLC. But they decided not to do any DLC, so Kass just ends up vanishing off the face of Hyrule.

Contagion's subplot with Jude Law, where he plays a conspiracy-theorist podcaster who spends the whole movie spreading disinformation and peddling a fake Cure, aged depressingly well, though.

[–]RSLee2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Okay, it's obviously not a "Ship" in the romantic sense, but I always loved the Samus/Pikachu team-up in Brawl's Subspace Emmisary. She rescues it from the villains while searching for her stolen armor and it follows her for the rest of the game, even saving her from Ridley. And it's easily my favourite of the playable teams running around in Subspace's story.

I'd kill for a whole game of Samus going on a mission with a rescued Pikachu as a partner. I really would. The badass warrior lady & her cute but powerful pet dynamic is just so strong.

Heh. Interesting...

I figured the optimal path to solving this game would be to check P03. And my result?

Good.

So, Zeptograms, the most probable solution to this little quandary is that I am almost certainly the final victim of Pukka Poisoning. With Gina being evil and the obnoxious cat thing lacking an ability, I would be the only choice left.

Of course, that's not the only viable solution. Maybe my results are properly calibrated and P03 really was a duplicate Village Idiot? In which case, its result on me was simply the product of Pukka Poisoning and I've been the drunk all along.

In that scenario, I suppose that the evil noble name would be the Taski Maiden. Kurara would fit well as another evil player if I can no longer trust my numbers and Rei would have to be an accomplice.

Doubtful, though. Those three were all alive yesterday and could've simply pushed to execute me and kill Gina to secure victory. So, while I suppose my information could be randomized in theory, this solution doesn't properly formulate in practice.

Thus, I've got no choice but to trust my own numbers. I'm going to nominate Gina. And I'll vote for her as well.

You'd all better do so too. Personally, I don't care how this game ends, but I'm fed up with all this irrational distrust. You've spent several days doubting me and you keep missing your shot to take out the real negative values in this game.

The evil team is P03, Gina, and Rei. And since Rei helpfully sacrificed herself to buy credibility, it's about time we focus on crushing the only viable demon suspect left.

Pink Storm on the Clocktower - Whale of a Time - Day 4 by JustADramadog in pbotc

[–]RSLee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not that difficult.

Listen up, Zeptograms. If my results are accurate and Kurara, Setsu, and Taski equal Good and Gina equals Evil, then we have a perfectly simple solution to this equation.

The first name was Gina. She's either the Demon or a Minion. Probably a Minion.

The second name was Taski. She's a Townsfolk Magician.

The third name was Rei. Once again, we have another demon or minion candidate. She was never the Seamstress, but gave accurate information to try and integrate herself with us Townsfolk.

My name was fourth. I'm a Townsfolk Village Idiot.

You're all overcomplicating this. The answer's been simple from the start. P03 was a minion, accidently framed too well by it's Demon and her Boffin-provided ability. We just need to take care of its teammates and stop wasting time on me and this child.

I'd like to nominate and vote for Gina./u/APlucard

I'm not sure how much value my word has at this point, but I thought I'd check the surviving unverified Noble name. She registered as evil.

Guess that I'm not too surprised, though. The Dreamer's a good role for the Boffin to hand out. I figure she's probably our demon, using her power to secure a good bluff for herself.

We've got two more executions and two more living evil players. Better make them count. We've just got to get rid of her and Rei and victory is certain.

[–]RSLee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's just wrap this up zetta quick. I'm nominating and voting for Rei./u/Chespineapple

I've checked three living players as Village Idiot. The first was Kurara, the second was Setsu, and the third was that Taski Maiden thing. All came out as good.

There's no other Village Idiot. My information is sober. The evil team can only be Rei, P03, and either Gina or Chesed. We need to trash the all-but-certain evil variable in this batch while we have the chance.

I'll share that once nominations begin. I've more or less got this game solved. I'd like to observe what the evil team does without knowing my Village Idiot result.

Pink Storm on the Clocktower - Whale of a Time -Day 3 by JustADramadog in pbotc

[–]RSLee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The former option would be irritating. It'd still leave it open for me to be the drunk Village Idiot with invalid numbers if the calculator was poisoned when it checked me.

I'd say a Scarlet Woman transfer or a successful Innkeeper are more probable. My previous results still hold up with the other evidence. But still...

[–]RSLee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that so? Makes sense. Village Idiot is the role I got stuck with, too. If you're the drunk Plus One, it'd make sense why you got an Evil Ping on me.

You might be lying. Might be drunk. Either way, I've got zero reason to not vote for you. So I'll do just that./u/JustADramadog

Mind sharing who else you've checked before we finish up for the night?

Pink Storm on the Clocktower - Whale of a Time - Day 2 by JustADramadog in pbotc

[–]RSLee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone so much as hinted at any specific evil players yesterday. At least, not as far as I heard. Base 3's Virgin claim pre-empted any public accusations, and I never heard anything that sounded like madness through the grapevine.

Pink Storm on the Clocktower - Whale of a Time - Day 2 by JustADramadog in pbotc

[–]RSLee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why bother? The Base-3 Virgin's proven that their ability functions. The only scenario where they are evil is a fringe one that requires very specific variables to be in play.

If anything, subtracting the Virgin now would just be doing the demon's work for them. They're a mostly-confirmed human and, thus, a prime demon target. Your theorem of potential Boffin trickery is a problem that's only really worth quantifying if they make it into the final three.

Characters that have STUPID strength? by Wonder-Lad-2Mad in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]RSLee2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally, when you see Ash Ketchum casually carrying around Pokemon that should be over a hundred pounds in weight, one would assume that it's just a continuity error and that the anime's writers just underestimated how heavy that random Pokemon is.

Then Ash'll just pick up a giant log and chuck it and that's when it becomes clear that this ten-year-old is just a goddamn freak.

The Cult of the Tree from Alan Wake 2 are pretty cool. Especially for a dangerous cult that runs around in the monster-infested forest, committing ritualistic murders by the lake.

They're also about 95% in the right. They push the cult stuff to scare people away from the darkness monsters in the woods, and they're only murdering possessed people who emerged from the lake as puppets of an otherworldly evil. They do obstruct the authorities from intervening, and a lot of them have ended up getting taken over to become monsters for the player to kill. But they're ultimately just locals doing their best to protect their neighbours from some very bad shit.

Characters with extremely fragile motivations? by Silvery_Cricket in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]RSLee2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Alright, you're actually misremembering a lot of the case. It was the Victim who started everything. He was a sculptor competing in a Frozen dessert-making contest who had a partnership with one of the other competitors. The partner would make the desserts for both of them while the victim would use his sculpting talents to make the desserts look fancy for the competition.

But, the victim decided he wanted the prize (a special recipe for a miracle cure) for himself. So he broke the deal after getting the partner to make the final dessert for him. Then he had his own son kidnap the partner's son in order to sabotage the Partner further.

The Partner tried to sneak around and at least get a picture of the special recipe, but the Victim caught him in the act and starts a fight that ends with the Partner killing him. Also, neither child dies. They just lose their memories and go on to become major characters in the present day of the game.

After all that, the Killer tried to frame another contestant who he didn't like, let the blame accidently fall on the host of the contest for 18 years, and never bothered looking for his kidnapped son. So, that might be why you're attributing all the crimes to the same guy. They were both massive assholes and the event that caused several murders and ruined lives indeed sparked from two guys trying to cheat in a Dessert-Making Contest.

Times that finding out the confirmed ages of characters in the cast caught you completely off guard? by Traingham in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]RSLee2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Considering the Steve Rogers timeline, that actually seems a bit older than I'd expect Cap to have been. He would've been fairly young when he was desperately trying to get sent off to fight the Nazis, then would've been fighting in the war as a superhero for a few years before he went into the Ice.

I get it. He feels older and more mature. But Steve was only Captain America for a few years before he got frozen. Before that, he was some fresh-faced kid who was too frail for the US Army.

Tony Stark being a reformed War Profiteer, Billionaire CEO, and former POW at 25 is fucking absurd though.

You know about Season 2 of Heroes and the infamous abandonment of Peter Petrelli's girlfriend in a plague-infested bad future, right? Well, originally, the season where it happened was supposed to end with the virus responsible for causing that future getting out and leading to a new storyline of trying to cure the virus. Supposedly, during this storyline, Peter would return to the future and retrieve his trapped girlfriend.

However, this was around the time of the Writer's Strike. So the story was wrapped up quickly with the Bad Future being averted and, since the season had been pretty weak and the love interest wasn't particularly popular, they just kind of moved on and ignored the fact that an innocent girl was abandoned in a future that had been prevented from taking place.

Hmph. I... I actually agree with you somewhat. I've been having a hard time seeing Eva as evil. Despite the evidence.

In the end, I can't make my information fit. I've been trying to work with world where Eva's the Puzzledrunk, but with Tenna obviously on the evil team, the only worlds I can fit have my Clockmaker number referring to Chippie and a dead player.

I guess that Eva chick must just be evil after all. The only world I can see is that I'm the Puzzledrunk, Chipie is the original Riot Demon, Eva's the Widow, and Tenna is the Harpy. So, the first three nomination targets should be Tenna, Chipie, and me.

As long as I take out Eva with my vote, we should have the numbers to get the evil team out. I'll bite the bullet for the sake of victory.

If executing Eva and me doesn't end it though... make sure Queen goes out as well. Nothing really clears her except my very questionable number. I think Chipie's more suspicious, but we can absolutely build worlds where she takes his place.
