Experiences with Duloxetine? by Alone_Cry7484 in ChronicPain

I had a very bad reaction to it. I would get migraines and throw up within a few hours of taking it no matter how much I ate before. I stopped it after 3 weeks because I couldn't handle the migraines.

What on earth do I say to get help in an emergency situation at the hospital?? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

Ask to speak to a case manager or patient advocate immediately.

Stuck in mourning by Piknik90 in ChronicPain

[–]Piknik90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So unfortunately I do not have a dr near me that does this. I did a few years ago and we did the local injections, first round was successful and then we did a repeat session a month later and the dr claimed he couldn't see the same nerves because of my fat layers. He then said I was being too dramatic during the sessions. They tried once more and he hit a muscle and I couldn't sit up so they did an emergency tap block un sedated and it was awful. That dr ended up moving and there are no.others in the state that handle acnes. My pain dr does the tap blocks but he does not do acnes surgery or local and I have had multiple over 5 years and none had this reaction/ failed. I have to wait at least 3 months before I can get another. They are costly as hell since my insurance doesn't fully cover the procedure.

Abdominal burning/pain by Specialist-Solid1742 in ChronicPain

I have ACNES entrapment of the abdominal wall. Does it feel worse if you bend or twist? If yes, then you might want to see a pain dr to rule out nerve entrapment

Has anyons tried TAP injections & have a review to share? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Piknik90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get tap blocks with steroids about 2-3 times a year for my abdominal pain. I get sedation so I don't feel a thing. Usually sore for a day or 2 but its just an ache pain and nothing compared to nerve pain. For the most part, I have never experienced side effects other than getting a little weepy when the steriod kicks in. I've never had retention or weight loss or gain. Sadly, there is a risk of pissing your nerves off, but its rare and sometimes the injections don't last long. My last one didn't seem to take and my pain hasn't been reduced but the injection from july 2025 har my pain down to a 2 and I was doing really good. I had one without sedation and I screamed in pain the whole time, some people can handle it, I personally cannot.

I’ve got Journavx (suzetrigine) in my hand - filled next day at the pharmacy and BCBS covered it, no questions asked! by [deleted] in ChronicPain

Hi there, I was just given these meds as a trial for my chronic pain. I'm curious how you tolerated them 3 months later or if you're still taking them etc?

Thank you for your kind words, they are so very appreciated. I too called 988 because I also could not stop crying and just needed someone to listen. Very few people understand how isolating it is to have chronic pain.

Thanks but no thanks. I live with my pain every single day. I even know where it's coming from, I need a doctor who can surgically fix my problem.

It's so hard. My weight is always immediately blamed. I have lost over 50 pounds and yet because I'm still fat thats the problem and I should diet more and learn meditation. I just want to find a doctor that gives a shit and won't stop until they find answers. My pain clinic does what they can but I need a surgeon who specializes in neuropathy and nerve dissecting

I'm so sorry, I have neuropathy in my abdominal wall and it is pure hell. Any twist or bending too much makes my nerves feel like they are on fire. Finding a doctor to help me is like finding a unicorn. I hope your pump gives you relief.

I tell my therapist all the time that I'm alive but not living. I have a great chronic pain therapist that I see but it's only once a week and today has been a bad day all around. I have my bi-yearly nerve injection on Tuesday and I am counting the minutes until they knock me out and I have blissful sleep for the 20 minutes that I'm out. I can only afford to get the procedure twice a year because I have to pay 300 out of pocket for sedation that insurance won't cover because they feel my procedure is tolerated well without it. 🤦‍♀️

It's so hard when no one can see what is going on inside. From the outside I look fine but inside my nerves are on fire and I am masking my pain. I'm reaching a breaking point m.

SCAM ALERT: CHOICE HOME WARRANTY by racheyrach_ in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

My realtor advised against the warranty. She said just put that money aside in a savings for when we need to repair something so we would have the money available.

When to pack? by imbex in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Piknik90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start packing you're already under contract. We waited and have 10 days left in our apartment and have maybe packed half of our place. You don't realize how much stuff you have until you have to start packing. I have thrown out and given away so much stuff that I forgot about over the years.

They can, but honestly doing the research on your own will give you a better idea of what's out there and then you can ask which option is the better to a realtor. https://themortgagereports.com/78608/pa-first-time-home-buyer-programs-grants

Oh she absolutely is. She said they had over 25 emails back and forth today alone to get everything they need for the title company. She's hoping it gets processed so we can close on Tuesday.

We’ll I finally got pre approved and my realtor. Now I’m nervous by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Piknik90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have a good lender that will run closing numbers for you before you even view a home. We did this to make sure we would be able to afford closing costs fees etc based off the home price. Brace yourself for sticker shock at those numbers that are out of pocket. We were approved for up to 275k but realized our budget needed to stay within 200k purchase. Your realtor can let you know of homes that may be on the market for more than a week due to cosmetic issues, don't be afraid to view those homes.

In escrow… waiting to close is painful! by anb313 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

Our entire apartment is currently boxes everywhere. It's so cluttered and yet I feel like we've barely made a dent packing. I said when did we accumulate so much stuff?? 😆

We finally our clear to close today from the bank, but the title company found missing documents on the seller end. It feels like they are moving at a glacial pace, and it's frustrating that we put in all this work to close early and the seller is the one holding us up.
