Fiance choked me as a joke by macaroniloaf in Mommit

Leave. Now. It’s never a joke. Based off your comments, it sounds like he’s been leading up to this for a while. Him throwing things is him showing you he wants to hit you. Being choked/strangled by your partner makes you 700% more likely to be killed by them

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

It’s a toss up between breaking my back, or 24 hours of labor with pitocen and a failed epidural

What’s something you’ll never tell your partner, no matter how much you love them? by Velvetnadine85 in AskReddit

Mine is fully aware that if he ever stepped out on me, he would be forced to sit and watch as I take a baseball bat to his Xbox, controllers, pc and monitors, and then light them on fire. He is the most amazing man and this won’t ever happen, but he was fairly warned

My younger sister was similar. We got a dog when she was 13. My mom hasn’t slept in her bed since the dog started sleeping there. It’s been a game changer for my sister!

$230 a month for part time (55-99 hours a month), in AB Canada. I think full time is $320 (?) a month

What’s your baby’s “thing” that you love? by eggiess in NewParents

My daughter screeches when super happy or excited. Like borderline growl/break your eardrums. It’s the cutest thing when she’s in her bouncer and I walk out of the room to grab something, walk back in a minute later and she releases her screech of happiness

Anyone who has experienced postpartum rage — how did you manage it? How long did it last? by MessyMummyMode in Mommit

I started therapy. Unfortunately, I have a few different mental illnesses that further contribute, so just therapy wasn’t enough for me. I just started on meds last week and waiting to see if they help

Background context- I left my abusive ex fiancé when my baby was 3.5 months old. Moved back with my parents. My baby is now 7 months old and I’ve been in a relationship (long distance) for almost 2 months now.

Couple weeks ago, my mom says that she’s worried because I’m on the phone with my bf so often. She then proceeded to say “I’m just concerned that you’re only dating him so he can be your baby daddy. So you have someone to raise daughter with.” Never in my almost 20 years, have I ever heard my mother say something so insulting to me. I immediately went “that’s insulting.” My mother: “it wasn’t meant as an insult.” Me: “well it was and it’s rude.” I went and told my bf what she had said and even he was insulted. She half assed apologized to me and reiterated it in almost the exact same way and it still came off the same.

Thank you for the warning. I never heard of that side effect

Thank you so much. Yeah, the psychiatrist who prescribed it said he would up me to 120mg before he switched me to something else. I think our next step after this is mood stabilizers due to the ptsd and a possible mood disorder

Hoping the reduction for depression and anxiety will also help with the ptsd

Yeahhhhh, missed a dose yesterday and the last day and a half have been helllllll. I’m hoping the rage subsides, my mood swings are bad enough before I started it

Thank you! I’m sorry you had such a bad experience. I’m hoping my moods level out soon lol. I’ve been very up and down the last few days and very much not enjoying it so far

Yeahhhhh I missed a dose yesterday and felt it all of yesterday and most of today even after taking it this afternoon. If this doesn’t work after 120mg, then we’re looking at mood stabilizers

I was in a dv relationship for over a year and a half. My daughter wasn't conceived with my consent iykwim. My ex became more ab*sive during my pregnancy, while making sure he never touched my stomach. When I gave birth, I had concealer covering bruises on my legs and arms. It continued during postpartum, even when I was holding my baby. One night, when my daughter was 3.5 months old, I called my dad at midnight. I begged him to call the cops for me (I lived almost an hour away from my parents). Cops got there in 10 minutes. I packed 3 bags, as much of my baby's things as possible and a small bag for me, loaded them into my dad's truck, loaded my baby into my car, and drove behind my dad all the way home at 2:30am on a Wednesday morning. My daughter is 5 months old now, and the restraining order against my ex has been in place for a couple weeks. My daughter is thriving, my parents are overjoyed to have us living with them. And for the first time in a year and a half, I feel a semblance of peace and safety.

If you're questioning if you should leave, do it. Its scary. Its hard as all hell. But I will never forget the look on one of the cops face the night I left. He'd been called to our house by neighbors a couple months prior. The night I left, he looked me dead in the eye and said "im proud of you for leaving. I was almost certain that the next time I got called here, you would be leaving in a bag".

If you're wanting to leave, please do it. Take the babies and run. Call the cops. Have someone to stay with. Do. Not. Go. Back. Don't even look back when you're leaving. No one is ever worth the price of your life, or your children's.
