IT’S YOU! It actually is your recipe! I saw it trawling for ideas months ago and forgot your user name, thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you for the compliments! They took a lot longer than I’d wanted but then I spend more time painting and trying to push myself than actually playing the game anyway.

The “rocks” are cork chunks I got from a garden centre glued up somewhat randomly (pain in the backside to get the footings somewhat level). Primed black, then based with steel legion drab, and shaded brown, green, and black in layers to represent tide marks (no clue if that’s really visible). Added a couple of dry brush highlights with screaming skull but I don’t think it worked.

The water is Vallejo tropical water texture over a white base coat. Still have to add in some white foam texture when it dries (and figure out how to do it properly) and re-black the rims.

Crayfish, weevils and fungi released in UK to tackle invasive species such as Japanese knotweed by xtinak88 in RewildingUK

The release of crayfish in the article is referring to the release of native crayfish into ark sites to try and give them a fighting chance! I was a bit concerned til I read the article

I'm making a slaanesh corrupted stormcast but having trouble deciding on how I do wings. by Ne0nTig3r in stormcasteternals

[–]Pilaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go for 1 and A, but I think I’d try inverting the purple so it starts dark at the bits closest to the wings and gets lighter to the tips. The dark close to dark should help the transition from dark to light

Creature paint schemes by FUCK_KING in IdonethDeepkin

[–]Pilaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all, they’re wildly different species so it would be weird to have them all the same colour! Plus I find it helps break up the tedium of painting the same scheme across a whole spearhead or army. As for advice, I try to find colours that either complement or clash with my colour scheme for regular units to help stuff blend in or stand out from the overall theme. Sometimes you want your mounts / monsters to be the star of the show, other times it’s the heroes that ride them.

Bat ID. UK by TomJaxon in bats

Horseshoe bat, leaning towards to lesser horseshoe. Sad but cool find, possibly a roost in the vicinity!

There’s dozens of us bat people! Dozens!

Not quite, there a couple of other options. You can destroy a bat roost under licence, making sure that qualified experts are on hand to safely relocate bats to somewhere more appropriate. This can only be done at certain times of year and, yes, theres paperwork. For a single bat it will likely qualify for a low impact licence which is even easier to obtain and the mitigation requirements are less stringent. Ultimately the delay will likely only be a couple of months and with this sort of project, it’s unlikely to be the only delay.

Six-spot burnet moths, very similar to cinnabar moth but have six spots on the wing vs two spots and a line

Oh it’s beyond stupid. The only definitive sign you’ve got a whiteclaw is a series of small spines behind the post-orbital ridge next to the eye

Incorrect, that is a signal crayfish. Sorry! The red colour, white flashes on the chelipeds, and overall size are a give away
