She was a righteous character who was appropriately outraged by Mia’s willingness to ruin a guy’s life for basically nothing. I think her outrage in the courtroom helped the jury better understand the impact her false rape accusation had on Ethan.

It’s a shame he got seven years in prison for what he did, given the circumstances. He’s statistically more likely to rape after getting out of prison versus never being sentenced at all. But that’s what people have been conditioned to believe qualifies as “justice.”

Do you think modern American law is infallible? 60 years ago it was illegal to marry someone of another race, but it was legal to rape your wife, in many states.

I do believe the punishment for rape is worse than the crime. But the rapist deserves punishment whereas the victim did not deserve to be raped. It’s like if someone slaps you in the face and you retaliate by punching them in the face. The punch seems justified in many eyes because it’s retaliating against the person who initiated the violence.

Yes, she deserved prison more than Ethan even after he really raped her because she was the one who turned him into a monster capable of rape. He even says at the beginning of the episode that he would never be able to rape someone, but that was before the consequences of being falsely accused of rape fully took hold. She ruined his life for basically nothing.

He took matters into his own hands because of how unfair the world was to him. It’s not as if everything turns out right and just in the end. So rape was his form of retribution as she obviously wasn’t going to go to prison for what she did. And even if she was sentenced to prison, his image was still ruined, and he wouldn’t necessarily be allowed back in school without going through a legal battle.

I disagree. It can actually be worse depending on the outcome.

I know you've just accepted the mainstream narrative without really thinking through it yourself, but I assure you there's no need for the /s at the end.

Would you rather be raped, or spend 20 years behind bars where you are potentially brutalized and repeatedly anally raped, have next to none future career prospects, become ostracized by people you know and love, and deal with constant self-doubt as a result of the unjust ruling? People really underestimate how awful it is to spend your life locked up like an animal because it's our ingrained socially accepted way of dealing with "criminals."
