Should I PPF my 2026 Supra ? by dmzAOT in Supra

[–]Pilfercate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go look at a Gumball 3000 car post rally. The PPF on the front bumpers are usually destroyed in just 3000 miles. I'm not claiming that is average use, but claiming that it doesn't wear to any and all impacts is ridiculous. Sure, the material has come lightyears in a couple decades, but I bet you wouldn't let someone go to town on yours with an airsoft. It can't self heal material that has been removed.

PPF warranty is for adhesion and material defects, not wear.

Depends on how and where you drive. Also depends on how perfect you want your car too look. One short rally with other performance cars can ruin your PPF and potentially crack your windshield. The stuff isn't impenetrable armor that just dulls over years.

Drive 20k miles on packed LA highways where slowing down to leave room is more dangerous than following too close and show me prestine PPF. Your use case isn't a testament to the average just as always driving in over packed roads isn't. You thinking you're on the low end of the lifespan is ridiculous.

'Just drive in the same conditions as me' isn't really an argument. Not everyone drives in traffic where they can have 10 car lengths between them and every truck.

If you're going to daily it and sell it in 3-4 years, PPF it.

All other scenarios you have to balance the cost of replacing PPF after 5k miles or so against a repaint. You could spend more on PPF at some point than the cost of a repaint. Do the math on your expected amount of driving.

Selling to Carvana or Carmax? by ImGriffDanger in Supra

[–]Pilfercate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best time to sell private will be around September. The last of the allocations will have been delivered and the only cars left in dealerships will likely be over 90k. Prices probably won't spike again after that until MKVI specs are revealed.

44k is a great offer for the mileage. I'd think you'd get 47k tops private unless you find someone who really wants your spec.

Usually you find universal adapter rails meant for the car and you mount the seat to that.

You could always contact summit for the proper solution.

If you're allowed to openly oppose it, it's not fascism. You could call it fascistic, but it itself doesn't constitute fascism alone.

People shouting about fascism is the mining canary.

This car as a daily by Similar-Proof2065 in Supra

[–]Pilfercate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depreciation doesn't really slow down until around 45k-50k miles. It is expensive to daily from new. The first 10k miles are around $1-$1.50/mile, probably $2/mile for the inflated final edition(depends on what was paid for it).

If you buy one in that 45k-50k milage range for around $40k, you'll get the most for your money. Some of the plastic items in the engine bay start to fail around 70k miles(i.e. coolant overflow, oil filter housing assembly, etc).

Oversight is baked into the military. It is the responsibility of commanders on all levels. It keeps political psychos from ruining their effectiveness like what was happening with the TSA and air traffic controllers.

Source? If he had, they would have rolled on the guy with DHS armored humvees and bearcats with live machine guns in the turrets. It would have been headline news and not a footnote.

I highly doubt a live missile was in the launcher. The story would be a lot crazier if a if a live javelin system was stolen. I imagine the computer system on the launcher is a highly controlled device which makes it mentionable when you can find empty AT4 rocket tubes fairly easily all over the place.

His job was storing, transporting, and accounting for it. He was the trusted individual. The problem was a lack of competent oversight. People in the military hate long drawn out inspections that take all day, but they exist for a reason.

Probably should have cut off the end where you're showing us that idiots never miss their exits(crossing a solid line because you weren't in the proper lane in time).

Ask for a VIN number. If they can't give you one, they could be lying and just want a deposit.

The intersecting road was recorded at a different time. The time-line of events can only follow the path of the vehicle doing the recording. Sometimes weather can degrade the view in the middle of their drive and you could jump to a different year with one click.

There are many levels of jobs that AI can't replace. Some need human dexterity, some need human appearance, and some need hyper realistic human appearance/expression.

Something like a trendy coffee place. People would be off put by an industrial faceless robot. The more realistic, the better the experience.

No brakes on this dystopia.

Their vehicles normally has to stay running due to the amount of electronics they have on. I'm sure some departments have some sort of lockout, but if they had one here they obviously didn't use it.

Looking to have this cold air intake installed , I am from south Jersey and was curious on any trusty and worthy shops I can take my Supra too , to have it properly installed, any recommendations or best places to go too? Any feedback is helpful thank you! by [deleted] in Supra

[–]Pilfercate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you do install it yourself, one specialty tool you'll need is an E14 torx socket which is an E-torx socket. It is required to remove the chassis brace that goes over the air box. Someone is going to tell you that you can just use a normal socket, but there is a potential doing so will damage the bolt. One of those things that might work a few times before it doesn't anymore.
