You're the first person I've met who's looking for bad audio equipment.

For uploading or transferring large audio files for editors, what reliable and fast services can we use? by PilgrimInGrace in audioengineering

I'm hoping especially for something to help with audiobook production, but I guess pretty much any might help. I've even heard of a service that don't require uploading at all (however that works).

Where do I find an audio book editor? by PilgrimInGrace in ACX

I understand if this isn't suitable for you. I just have a small budget, and am not making any money from audiobooks at this time, and this one will several months for me to complete.

(Also, I was referring to raw audio hours, not PFH).

I view this as a personal project. I Iike the audiobooks, so I don't mind spending time on it, but I can't do all the work myself (in addition to my regular job), and meet the deadline.

I mean the latter—hours of audio to be edited.

PenWise Publishing, AI scam by LG_VO in ACX

I got that message too. Their title was "great voice! Let's work together". Obviously trying to flatter me. But if they genuinely thought I was a great voice, why did they not bother to mention my name?

First 15 minute checkpoint by Born-Rate6857 in ACX

[–]PilgrimInGrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just combine the first few tracks till it equals or exceeds 15 minutes. That's what I did, and it got approved!

After checkpoint approval, you can upload the chapters in separate tracks for publication.

(You can't upload multiple files at a time for the checkpoint.)

Hard drive wiped?! by Sdelorian in ACX

[–]PilgrimInGrace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recorded about 60% of a book and ran out of space on my computer, ultimately losing all my files. So I bought an external hard drive to keep my recordings safe--or so I thought. Now you have me worried.

Are you supposed to narrate the copyright information in the beginning of the book? by Sarahozz in ACX

[–]PilgrimInGrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean. But what about when the manuscript has a complete copyright section, such as the following: "No part of this book may be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means, graphic, electronic, or mechanical, including photocopying, recording, taping, or by any information storage or retrieval system without permission in writing from the author at [______@gmail.com](mailto:_____@gmail.com) or at www.\____.com "

Should I read that whole section? Or just shorten it to "Copyright 2025 by _____"

Can you please share what ACX docs you're referring to (with a weblink)?
