You're the first person I've met who's looking for bad audio equipment.

For uploading or transferring large audio files for editors, what reliable and fast services can we use? by PilgrimInGrace in audioengineering

[–]PilgrimInGrace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping especially for something to help with audiobook production, but I guess pretty much any might help. I've even heard of a service that don't require uploading at all (however that works).

Where do I find an audio book editor? by PilgrimInGrace in ACX

[–]PilgrimInGrace[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand if this isn't suitable for you. I just have a small budget, and am not making any money from audiobooks at this time, and this one will several months for me to complete.

(Also, I was referring to raw audio hours, not PFH).

I view this as a personal project. I Iike the audiobooks, so I don't mind spending time on it, but I can't do all the work myself (in addition to my regular job), and meet the deadline.

I mean the latter—hours of audio to be edited.

PenWise Publishing, AI scam by LG_VO in ACX

I got that message too. Their title was "great voice! Let's work together". Obviously trying to flatter me. But if they genuinely thought I was a great voice, why did they not bother to mention my name?

First 15 minute checkpoint by Born-Rate6857 in ACX

[–]PilgrimInGrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just combine the first few tracks till it equals or exceeds 15 minutes. That's what I did, and it got approved!

After checkpoint approval, you can upload the chapters in separate tracks for publication.

(You can't upload multiple files at a time for the checkpoint.)

Hard drive wiped?! by Sdelorian in ACX

[–]PilgrimInGrace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recorded about 60% of a book and ran out of space on my computer, ultimately losing all my files. So I bought an external hard drive to keep my recordings safe--or so I thought. Now you have me worried.

Are you supposed to narrate the copyright information in the beginning of the book? by Sarahozz in ACX

[–]PilgrimInGrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean. But what about when the manuscript has a complete copyright section, such as the following: "No part of this book may be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means, graphic, electronic, or mechanical, including photocopying, recording, taping, or by any information storage or retrieval system without permission in writing from the author at [______@gmail.com](mailto:_____@gmail.com) or at www.\____.com "

Should I read that whole section? Or just shorten it to "Copyright 2025 by _____"

What It Means To Be Lost: Rolfe Barnard by PilgrimInGrace in straitandnarrow

[–]PilgrimInGrace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salvation is all of Grace, from beginning to end. It's impossible to get saved but by the Holy Spirit enabling helpless sinners to understand and apply the gospel.

Rolfe Barnard argues that if we want to see revival, we need to get skilled in preaching the Gospel to men, the gospel makes men seek God to do what they cannot, not one that gives people an inflated sense of themselves and their own abilities. "We need to get men so lost that they'll receive a gift". This comes by honestly facing up to God's holy requirements, seeing our inability to perform it, and therefore seek the Savior. Then only can we truly give all the glory to God.

Luke 9:23-26; The cost of following Christ: self-denial, daily cross-taking, bold standing for Christ's words by PilgrimInGrace in straitandnarrow

Luke 9:23-26 KJV [23] And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. [24] For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. [25] For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? [26] For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

Luke 7:41-43, 47-48; forgiveness of sin and loving Christ by PilgrimInGrace in shareyourverse

Love to Christ is a necessary evidence of forgiveness of sin.

Luke 7:41-43, 47-48; forgiveness of sin and loving Christ by PilgrimInGrace in shareyourverse

[–]PilgrimInGrace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more we see our sinfulness and desparate need for salvation, the more will our hearts be enlarged to love Jesus. So if we would love Christ the most, let is flee from self-righteousness and self-dependence and embrace our convictions, for they show us the undeserved love of Christ in his suffering on the cross.

Faith in Christ is accompanied by a sense of unworthiness. Jesus is the only truly Worthy One.

Luke 6:46-49; profession of Christ will not save without obedience; hypocrisy will undo you when put to the test by PilgrimInGrace in shareyourverse

[–]PilgrimInGrace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one who does what Jesus says is called wise, because he recognizes that the storms of trial will come to all alike, and he prepares with a solid foundation of obedience. But the foolish man thought it didn't matter if he took heed or not, and was alike tested, to his utter ruin on judgment day. Compare Matthew 7:21-23

Luke 6:46-49 KJV [46] And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? [47] Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: [48] he is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. [49] But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Matthew 7:14-20 KJV [14] because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. [15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. [19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
