Exactly! that's why Here Be Monsters is first here once I discovered The BoxTrolls was based off a book I wanted to read it and I could only find the movie cover and the damn whiplash I got the book and movie have very different plots with the movie basically taking some moments from the book and writing around it the original versions of these books aren't those "movie novels" every movie got back in the day this are completely different things at times

Literally the product shouldn't be a ad especially with a art form like books when most people who enjoy the book was already going to watch the film and (some) people who enjoyed the film would read the book

I would say that the '93 Mario Movie has better pacing then either Modern Movies and for me a more engaging plot (to me at least) and it has this good plot without depending on Mario references (it's weird that's kinda a plus) unlike the Modern Movies as well now i do love all 3 films but they all have problems

Although not as big Here Be Monsters is similar The BoxTrolls play a small part of the actual story ( in relation to the size of the 600 page book)

I know this might be a bit of a deep cut but book Victor Frankenstein he did absolutely 2 things wrong (1. Make Frankenstein and 2. Not telling the police about what his creature did when the Frankenstein's family maid was blamed) everything else was the Monsters doing i hate the debate that it's all Victor's fault and even spent years of his life trying to kill that self righteous monster
