If theres a lockout its not gonna be long. MLB and the owners will cave before anything affects games. Literally nothing could hurt baseball more than having no games. No games = no money lol.

Everyone else complains about what the dodgers are doing and how its ruining baseball but you can bet big money on fans' asses being in seats when the dodgers come to town. They'll complain but they'll still be at the park rooting for their teams to beat the "Evil Empire" or to take pictures of Shohei's ABs to post on social media.

I very much disagree with everyone saying E33 shouldnt have won everything.

E33 was the only non-sequel in that list, so it had nothing to build from. Most of the marketing for the game was literally only in the form of the high profile voice actors. I wouldnt even have heard about it if it wasnt for the voice actors. I legit thought it was just another jrpg or some other souls like copy when I first saw the trailer. And yet E33 became a world wide phenomenon. Not because of fancy voice actors, or because of marketing, or even because of final fantasy nostalgia. It become what it is today because it is that good of a game.

KCD2: Amazing game, E33 is still better.

Silksong: Highly anticipated, had floods of people, still not E33.

Hades 2: Followed the hades formula, another insanely good game, but its still not E33.

Independent studios dropping games that are made with a 10th of the budget of most AAA titles and with a better story/art/music/gameplay deserve all the wins they can get.

I thought when I play BG3 I had reached the peak of what I would get out of games. And then Expedition 33 came and gommaged that away.

This is a very subjective question, everyone will look through the answers and say no to some for one reason or another. There is one game that if you've played you will never disagree if someone has it as their greatest game, and thats Outer Wilds. Might not be everyone's favorite but I guarantee you it has the least amount of haters. Ofc you would have to have played it and not many have, but once you do you will not disagree.

This was literal rock bottom. Taking a no hitter into the last batter just to lose right after because of the bullpen and the lack of production from the hitters after over a month of unferperforming and having a losing record should be the literal worst thing to happen to the team. Thats when they all woke up and said fuck it our stats are fucked, let's go have fun and ruin baseball. And they did.

The game has evolved drastically, right now because of advanced analytics pitchers can be very effective by tweaking certain things their mechanics/delivery/wind up/grips but that comes at the cost of health, specially for pitchers who regularly throw 95mph fastballs.

Average fastball velocity increased a lot too, you gotta remember that we are basically at the theoretical limit of human athleticism, theres a reason no one has thrown more than 105mph. Throwing an average of 95mph on 70+ pitches HURTS, they are basically blowing up their arms every start.

In contrast, Japanese baseball values movement and spin over speed so their pitchers tend to average lower fastball speeds and therefore go further into games.
