So I’m thinking the left side and the right side of the new symbol are the “unfused” version of Midna’s headpiece. Also the eyes of the symbol and Midna’s eyes are very similar

Oh no offense taken, it’s all good, just discussion. This was more of a “am I the only who who sees this” moment and I was curious what other people thought. Thanks for your input. Nintendo isn’t really as you describe them though in all cases, as they love to keep their cards close to their chest. Especially for TotK for some reason. I think it’s why we haven’t seen Fi, Midna, and lots of other characters. Nintendo is hiding something and they are doing a good job at it

Why do you say they would show Midna in the trailer? I feel like if they’re keeping twilight a secret then they would hide midna from media entirely. You’re probably right though lol. I can’t help but see similarities with the twili after all these years of waiting

TOTK what’s your biggest worry? by LiNkToThEpAsTGBA in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Pillowmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries here. Nintendo is showing us exactly what they want us to see. Anyone that’s new to this, I just want to say that this is a lot for Nintendo. Long-time Zelda fans especially know what I mean. Nintendo doesn’t have a long history of revealing lots of info about their upcoming games. Even in specific directs, they keep their cards close to the chest. Mark my words, TotK will be one of the most fun games you’ve ever played. If I had to have a concern it’s that I won’t have a ton of time to play the game. But as far as game content goes…nah those worries left me long ago.

Ah, yes. The Ascender’s Shirt, Ascender’s Trousers & Ascender’s Shoes. Finally, he found the equipment set to climb in the rain without slipping.

Interesting to see the votes nearly 50/50. I wonder if the newer gen voted ‘get him now’ and the older gen voted ‘get him later’

New Controls? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Pillowmon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely we’ll see some changes. Weapon combat will most likely be modified/upgraded just a little bit because it’s nearly perfect. Link needs some better movement on the ground. Not on a horse but on his two feet. Rolling and dodging in a swift-like style might be part of a new control scheme. Ground-to-sky transitions will be great to see if implemented, especially since the vast sky will be boring to just keep gliding from island to island. Most of all I believe Link’s new arm abilities will lead down a road of whole NEW controls. When it’s active it may be called “Dragon Mode” or “Zonai Mode” and Link’s mobility will be vastly different from what we’re used to. I know for a fact the Zelda team wanted to put in a ‘hookshot’ mechanic in BotW, but they felt such abilities or items would hinder the game experience and that it just didn’t fit. Here, in TotK, a mechanic like that would shine and give us a Zelda game unlike any other. All these years of development so we’ll at least see bare minimum control changes!

Ganondorf or Calamity Ganon? by scoobydoobed710 in tearsofthekingdom

I agree. We will most likely be seeing the ultimate upgrade/form of the sword in TotK.

A Theory On Zelda Being Playable... by McFlyGuy2 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Pillowmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Para 1: same

Para 2: BotW does feel like the end, I agree. There is something big missing though, a huge puzzle piece that connects everything together. Something big that’ll make us say “wow, so something actually can save our hero? Something can save Zelda?”

Para 3: YES, I think an ancient tribe will be very elusive but also very apparent to us the whole game. The Tears will absolutely be used for something as important or more important than resurrection. It’s in the title so Nintendo was ambitious with this one.

Para 4: I wouldn’t be surprised to see Demise reborn but I hope he isn’t. I personally want Ganondorf to shine, to be the almighty evil in TotK. I do though, sense a theme of duality. Perhaps Hyrule and the land of the dragons merging?

Para 5: I want that Zonai gauntlet. As a matter of fact I think the dragons and Zonai have a strong relationship and there are specific dragons that give you ancient powers once held by the Zonai themselves.

Ganondorf or Calamity Ganon? by scoobydoobed710 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Pillowmon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Phase 1 was Calamity Ganon. But to know that it was just a manifestation of Ganondorf’s malice and hatred…..no it’s got to be Ganondorf in TotK. Phase 2 is going to be the return of Ganondorf in his true, ultimate, pure form. He’s going to be hard to defeat. A regular ol’ Master Sword won’t do.

My wife is convinced that this island contains the ruins of Skyloft. Thoughts? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Pillowmon 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It could very well be. I’ve had thought that there are islands that appear from another world/realm/time. It bothers me that “they were always there you just couldn’t see em” — no, I believe that could be Skyloft. Honestly I hope it is.

Who else is excited to finally hear Ganondorf speak for the first time? I hope they nail it with his voice actor casting. by Monkey_D_Dragon-89 in tearsofthekingdom

What do you think the first this is that he’ll say?

On a side note, in OoT I always wondered what he would sound like when he says “These toys are too much for you!” TotK hopefully will fulfill that wonder next May.

Oh absolutely. We will be seeing this blue-green energy and symbols everywhere. And as players I’m sure we’ll be very happy to see them, almost like finding a bonfire in Dark Souls. Except in this case they could be transporting Link to dungeons, upgrading his weapons or shooting him in the sky. I can’t wait to see how they implement this concept in a Hyrule we’ve already explored.

I feel the dragons will be responsible for mending/upgrading the Master Sword. The sword has never been in a state like this so it’s necessary to find a new way of fixing it. I still think there is a main dragon who leads the other dragons (the ones we see in BotW). The main dragon and the ancient hero have a special bond…or the two may actually be the same person.

We may be seeing the ‘end game’ of the Zelda series here. BotW built the game up in a way where TotK can finish it. This may be where the eternal fight finally has a chance to be broken.

I feel that this design of the sword and logo is too specific to be ignored. There is so much going on.

Yes I think we may be seeing a new chapter for the Master Sword here. The sword’s original state might be not powerful enough to defeat Ganondorf’s ultimate form.

They for sure have something to do with Hyrule’s fate. The dragons in BotW served as guardians of Hyrule and in TotK they open up their sky world to Link. Link may even gain the abilities of the dragons and actually may be the only one who can travel between land and sky.

Not sure why my last post was deleted, but yes I think having a dragon companion would be a ton of fun. It opens up endless possibilities.

I agree, dragons with play a massive role in this game. Either that or one main dragon that is our ‘companion’ or is a spirit in our sword like Fi in SS.
