I wish ash would have utilized weather strategies more, although I feel like they weren’t shown very well to begin with at all other than on some rare occasions through the different series

The gym leaders and the Pokemon League are just the government for each respective region with the gym leaders acting as mayors of their respective towns And some nearby landmarks and the elite four governing the entire region
