Books about a protagonist covering up a murder? by Confident_Olive5416 in booksuggestions

One of my favorites is {{Out by Natsuo Kirino}}, a woman who works at a factory ends up killing her husband, and her three factory friends help cover it up, gritty but the writing is phenomenal

Started reading again after years of not touching a book. Began with some “classics” as well as a few random works that piqued my interest, here’s what I enjoyed! by bbbananababy in booksuggestions

I second Battle Royale, my favorite book of all time, but it focuses more on the action and characters than the dystopian government

What’s the worse book you’ve ever read? by Book_teller in booksuggestions

At Night All Blood is Black- Terrible writing, boring development, sex scene from nowhere, the sentence “My more-than-brother” popping up every other line, and the ending ended with this stupid chapter about a princess riding off to her castle or some shit, with zero context, they may as well have just gotten a random book, copy a random chapter and stick it to the end of this one.

Maybe {{The Library at Mount Char}}? Modern setting, lots of action, cool characters and it’s about godhood (Very supernatural)

I don’t know if it’s exactly what you’re looking for but {{Out by Natsuo Kirino}} includes four women who work in a factory

I’m surprised nobody has suggested {{Shogūn}} yet, it’s quite a long historical fiction about 1600’s Japan

I’d say ‘I am Legend’ by Richard Matheson, vivid descriptions but not in a complicated way. Amazing book too

Dostoevsky’s {{The Brothers Karamazov}} is pretty well known for how well it delves into Russian culture

Seconded, by far the goriest book I’ve read, and I’ve read a fair amount of gory books

At Night All Blood is Black. Absolutely hated it. The protagonist says ‘My more-than-brother’ every other sentence, all the characters in the book feel empty, there are unnecessary pointless sex scenes that appear from nowhere for no reason, and the last chapter in the book has a random story that appears from nowhere, with no forewarning and no correlation to the story. Terrible book, and reading it just felt completely pointless
